GRRRR, need help with Adobe flass download

Everytime I try to download flash, or any adobe it says error try again,it does this over and over again. I just uninstalled it because at every web site a box would drop down and says do you want to in nstall adobe flase, yadda, when it is already installed, what can I do, Thanks in advance pks

Have followed the uninstall instructions at the link below, then reinstall flash..

I had the same problem, it worked fine for me by first closing open browser windows after the download but before installing.

Thanks Mikie, I appreciate the link and answer. She seems to have some aversion to using Firefox, though I can't figure why. I tried to explain how easy it is to use, the explanations for what things are and how to use them are understandable, but she won't listen, and installed a different browser. Don't know why she asks for advice then refuses to take it. I gave her lots of options for browser, malware detection, virus detection, and she still managed to get a bunch of crap on her new computer. Don't understand how. The Norton is a 90day pre-install. I think I'm going to give up on the advice. I have a new computer also, and have not downloaded crapware doing installs of this that and the other. I guess I know a little more and understand more of what I do know. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks Mikie, again! It is the same one I tried to install. It has their toolbar. Its almost impossible to get rid of it once installed. They have made it mandatory to take their seach toolbar with the free ZA. Probably even throw it in with the paid version. Last year you could install by clicking 'skip all offers' but even clicking it installs the search toolbar. I'm running Win XP and need a firewall. Jane

Have you even contacted Amazon at all or the site where you bought the books? I own several kindles and amazon has the most excellent tech support with help for their kindles. You can either post on the kindle forums or call Amazon so there is really no need to take your tower out of the house. You don't even need to hook the kindle to the computer to get files on it. You do have wifi in your house don't you? What happened when you installed send to kindle on your computer and tried that? Are you sure the files you bought are in a format for the kindle? I think you should contact the site where you bought the files and make sure other wise you are waisting your time taking your tower out of house to get them transferred if they are not in the right format for the kindle. Krebs is a journalist and he writes a blog. That means he repeats what he's told and what he garners from public sources. Why pay attention to a site like that, most people don't. Why? Because most PC users have neither the knowledge nor the insight to understand the nature of threats nor program updates that software companies release. Unless Krebs has work experience as a software developer, he likely doesn't fully understand these matters either. The two best tools to use to avoid problems with your PC are your own prudence (about what websites you go to and the sources of files you try to open or download) and the consistent use of a high rated security program. My suggestion is to set programs to update automatically and allow the software companies to do the worrying for you. I'm a firm disbeliever in the myriad of utilities and alternative programs some people clutter their PCs with. They're mostly unnecessary.

Are you sure that you are getting the correct version for the browser you are using, there's one for IE, and one for non IE version.

Windows 8, IE10, its Flash Player updates come from Microsoft. Flash is coded into win8. Most people won't be able to uninstall it.

I Uninstalled it with their uninstall tool - only to panic when it wouldn't re-install the newest version... then discovered it was just sitting and waiting until needed again on a web page.

Flash & Silverlight wont been needed eventually.. they will be replaced by newer webpage coding and browsers that handle the newer HTML version 5 coding.

that big dam box drops down every time I click on the muse, I had to click don't allow15 times just to get t this site and yes I did uninstal and reinstal, bt I am sue I am not doing something right, help me before I throw it out a window.I HATE adobe

Are you running or saving the download? If you are running while the target browser is active, have you tried saving the download, closing the browser, and then doing an install.

Have you tried the download from a recognized mirror site such as filehippo.com?

HTML5 is now in candidate release to developers and such. It won't be in full service until 2014. And yes it is being reported that with the new coding Flash, Java, Shockwave, and Silverlight will no longer be required.

Sounds like a browser/security setting is blocking flash. Or you have Flash set to disabled in the browser and its screwed up..

Which browser ??? I'm used to IE and it has buttons to reset all the settings and security to defaults. That maybe a simple fix for any browser ... with Firefox is simple to uninstall/reinstall. Figure out how to export your favorites or bookmarks and at uninstall remove all settings too.
