Having trouble with a Virus on my computer!!

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition. I know for a fact I have a virus on my computer. I have Avast anti-virus software installed on my computer, which I have ran multiple times, even in safemode, and it still does not pick up anything, but this Virus Fujack thing. It picks it up, but I find that it is unable to delete it or something. Also, I use Mozilla Firefox for my web browser and for some websites like "symantec" or other virus websites, it will keep loading and won't be able to access the site at all. Also, is whenever I'm on some sites like yahoo and keep clickin on different links, some popups that come from Internet Explorer start popping up. I have had a lot of patience in trying to keep scanning my PC and nothing seems to be helping. I am almost half tempted to back up all of my files on an external hard drive and reformat the hard drive on my PC. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Also! I tried using a system restore to restore the computer back to a certain date when the computer was actually running fine, but it consistently says that it wont restore... :-( Please Help!

Please Download Malwarebytes:
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop. Click here
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
Ã¯Â¿Â½ The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

Ã¯Â¿Â½ Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

I use FireFox with Adblock Plus. I got sick of the intrusive ads on Gardenweb. If they're not going to manage the ads and protect the users from viruses that are being slipped through, I'll protect myself and block all ads they try to show me.

I think someone mentioned that what you posted, the registry change wasn't necessarily bad but could be from a program being removed. I wonder if there is a way to find out if you were actually infected with something? This is why I suggested the Panda scan because it would have told you. btw, make sure you do windows updates. I personally would get rid of Mcafee. I know you paid for it but it's a resource hog. For backups I have multiple hard drives, they are cheap. I have an external enclosure that holds 2 drives. I have a computer running windows XP, installed the Maxtor Maxblast program and use that to back up to the larger drives. As far as I know, they don't have a program (Maxtor) like this for Vista but I could be wrong. What it will do is back it up as files verses a file that you have to unpack. If you back up your C drive, you will see every folder on the C drive in your backup.

Yep, I got it Lucky. I knew it was a virus soon as I opened the "message" from you. We get them from members on Freecycle, sometimes. If you change your email password to a stronger one, that seems to have fixed the problem for our Freecycle members....along with the virus scans you already did.

interesting name, you can head over to this help forum and they will assist you with some special scans, tell them I sent you there and tell what you have told us here.
