The lunar eclipse?

News said we probably won't get to experience due to the cloud cover.

I wouldn't anyway. Sleepyhead me!

Interesting that you posted this today. I watch the show if I happen to be clicking around and find it. My favorite is little Aiden - "the professor" - so cute! They all are. I don't like the way that Kate (mostly it's Kate) frequently disses Maddy. Heck - the kids watch the show (they've said that before). How does Maddy feel about her mother/parents saying things like that about her, even if they're true. She's 7! I wouldn't like to continually hear about what a problem I am or how different I am even now, at my ripe age, much less when I was 7. For example, last night Kate was talking about the trip to the ceramics studio (or whatever it was) with the girls. She said that Cara made an adorable something-or-other and how great it was, and that Maddy made a perfectly atrocious something else. Those weren't her exact descriptions, but her words were equally distinct. Poor kid. Maybe Kate should consider cause-and-effect? Kids all have different personalities and we deal with them as individuals. Hopefully we don't make critical comments so often, especially to the whole world. Frankly, I don't like the way the twins act like little mothers to the sextuplets. That's Kate's job - the twins should just act like 7 year olds and not mommies (I'm not saying that Kate made them that way). I liked the video they showed last night at the very end. It showed lots of kisses and hugs and cuddling between the parents and kids, something that we don't see often otherwise.

I think both Mark and Kelly have shown some real growth this season. I believe that Mark learned something when he went home and got to see himself the way others see him. If he's faking all the tears and softness, he deserves an Academy Award. As soon as Kelly weighed in this week and knocked him below the yellow line, he still yelled out a 'good job Kelly'. And trust me, I despised him earlier on. I don't like Roger at all and it doesn't seem like the other contestants or the host think much about him either. Maybe Dan idolized him but the maturity level on the ranch skyrocketed after Dan left and Roger didn't have anyone left buying and selling his fratboy/college football player malarkey. I think he's a bully but since he's always been a candidate to be the BL due to his size, he was given a soft edit. I think they need to reconsider what makes the BL the BL. By going just by percentage, it's unfair to those contestants who just don't have as much to lose as others. That's why I kind of like the gameplay aspect of it (which was way overdone this season) since that's the only chance some of the other contestants have but when it comes down to the final 3 or 4, there's an unfair playing field since the smaller players just can't lose the same percentage of weight and still be, well, alive and well.

Thank you Gazania....this is the old curmudgeon speaking...what they call Country today, is just Pop, with anew title. I listen to classic country all the time and I can recognize those singers because they didn't all sound alike, not to mention look alike. Today's so-called female country singers all look the same....skinny, long blond hair, dressed like a hooker. The guys look alike as well, shaggy hair, unshaven, and sloppily dressed. I tried to watch a little of the award show, the only thing that impressed me was when the Service man came on, in the wheel chair, and the standing ovation he received, and the heartfelt song, by Trace Atkins. I doubt very seriously that pulling the drawers out of the furnished work benches falls under the category of use stuff, that would mean the piles of woods available and nuts and bolts etc but not claiming that you made every thing in the project when he clearly had not. That question was even asked and he said yes he made everything, that was his chance to show some character and honesty and explain the situation but he lied there as well. So cheat, check, liar, check, absolute scumbag, check.! I think if they screw up and let him win it will be the end of the show, this was their second chance for many people, like me, there won't be another. I guess next season they will have to build new drawers for the person that gets Sef's station,since the work station now has none.

I went out about an hour ago and the moon was high and sky was clear I'll try and check it out later it is supposed to last an hour or more.

I just checked. The sky is clear and the moon is almost straight up, and it is exceptionally bright. I'll be out there in my nightgown.

Last night, the sky was clear and the full moon was high and bright. Its snowing tonight! Drat! We expect 2 to 4 inches by mid-morning Tuesday.

It's after 12:30 here and Claude and I are up waiting. We have some clouds, but I just went and checked and the moon is big and bright and clear. It should at least be visible off and on. The eclipse starts here just past 1:30, and that's when I'm waking Sophie and Benjamin up (Oliver wouldn't be impressed!) The plan is to put on warm clothes and go out periodically over the course of an hour or so. In between, we'll warm up with hot chocolate and cookies inside. Then, hopefully, they'll get back to sleep relatively quickly.

I'll pay for the lack of sleep tomorrow, but it'll be worth it. I think it's something neat that the kids will remember!

I ckd here and the sky is cloudy. Can't even see the moon. :(

Will check again and of all nights, I'm kinda tired and sleepy and that is very rare for me.

12:55 Central time I just went out and looked and saw it starting The moon is stright up from my house I'll try and get out a little while later!!

I'm watching it right now! It's a little cloudy here in Seattle, but I have had pretty good luck seeing it where I am.

I went out and checked just before 1:00am my time. The moon wasn't that big, but able to see it from my backyard. I can't find my binoculars to get a better view of it. I will go out again at 1:30am because they say that will be the best time to view it.

We watched it too. DH drug out the telescope and I wrapped up in a blanket. The boys didn't have enough patients to stay out tge entire time si they kept checking on it and going back inside.

I hadn't realized there was an eclipse this past night. Gary and I are up at 3:45 am Eastern which would be 2:45 Central. I start work and he takes the dogs for a walk before he goes to work. I wonder if he saw it. He didn't mention anything, but then I don't think he knew to be looking for it either. Darn!

I read until 12:30am, then went to bed; got back up when I heard the clock chime 1:30am and the eclipse started about 10min.later at my place. The moon was bright but surrounded by clouds. Went back to bed, heard the clock chime 2:30am, got up and the moon was red with just a sliver of white left - and no clouds and stars everywhere! So I stepped into my shoes with bare feet, wrapped a wool throw around my PJs and went out on the front porch. The moon was red that's for sure, I've seen it red before but this time it was spookier.
