I haven't watched it in quite a while. I know that Maddy is more spirited, and spirited kids can be a challenge.

I love this show...but I agree Maddy is a pain in the butt. She has a nasty attitude most of the time. The rest of them I just love! Those little ones are so cute! Maddy does seem to get the attention she is working for!

That's definately one kid who should have been an only child. She's got a bit of a nasty streak in her. I hope the parents watch the tapes and see that, when no one is watching, Maddy gets very handsy with the others.

It's so not nice to have such strong feelings about a child. Especially one that you don't really know. But I find that kid tough to take.

oh boy do I agree..she needs counseling. Kate's solution in Hawaii was Maddy just gets to stay with the nanny instead of ruining everyone's fun.
I don't know them, but in my youth I would have gotten the board of education. Now it's counseling and no she's not too young..Kathy

OOh, I so agree! I think one of the worst things was when they went to Hawaii to renew their wedding vows and Kate asked her to stand up with her and she said no. I don't know what it was, I won't or I don't want to. It just felt like a stab in the heart or gut to me. It must have hurt her mother.

I agree with all of you, I couldn't watch the rest of the show, I don't like watching the show when she's having her little fits.

OK I'll stand up for the kid here. They tape for hours on end. I think the crew loves to catch Maddie in the act. Poor kid. I was a difficult child sometimes and I am glad I did not have a camera around. Wonder what will happen when she says "Hall no, you ain't taping me!

John and Kate should insist Maddys' tantrums be off limits for the cameras. Her reputation is going to be ruined . She is going to be known as the " obnoxious" 1 of 8.They should get her some therapy real soon.IMHO.

I have watched parts of this show twice - the kid is just mirroring her mother. Kate has the most nasty attitude towards Jon that I have ever seen - he's an amazing guy to put up with her mouth, IMHO!

I agree Kay, I think Maddie acts just like her Mom. The first time I watched the show I didn't know who they were and this woman was yelling and screaming at her husband when he was trying to put up storage racks in the garage. I thought what is wrong with this lady? I do think she has calmed down a little, probably after seeing herself on the program.

I also read an article about the falling out that
Kate & John had with her brother and sister-in-law
(who used to be on the show a lot). It said that
Kate & John have made their kids a big business and
don't want family butting in. Don't know how
true it is. Said, there was a Blog written by
the sister.

That's sad to hear Molly because they helped them out a lot. I didn't like the show where she was pushing the book. It seems like now it's a money-making thing whereas before we were just enjoying the family.

The camera does catch Maddy doing things but Kate seems to appreciate it because she would never know otherwise. Like the time she shoved one of the younger ones. Kate keeps saying that they're working on Maddie and her issues and some websites have people doing a full analysis on the child.

Do you notice how these families that do these reality shows are becoming more well off? It's sort of making it harder for me to relate and enjoy them. I think that's why I don't watch Little People, Big World much anymore.

I feel so sorry for those kids, especially the twins. I enjoy watching the show because the kids are adorable. My daughter stopped watching because she could no longer watch Kate and her attitude. The final straw was when Kate's sister in law was baby sitting the kids and let them have chewing gum and Kate freaked out and kept complaining about 'how could any one let kids have gum.' I wondered how much longer her sister in law would take the criticism.

I have noticed a difference this season, Kate doesn't seem to get as upset and she is definitely nicer to Jon. My daughter thinks she's on 'medication' to calm her down. And does anyone know if Jon is now a stay at home Dad? He mentioned recently that he was now at home more and I was curious if they're now making enough money from the show that he can stay home. Maybe that's why Kate seems to be less stressed. They also keep hinting about moving - I wonder where they'll end up.

their income is now from TLC
i read that it is $60,000 per episode, and they will be soon moving into a million dollar house

i have noticed too that kate treats jon a little better
she is not slapping him and yelling at him as much as before

and mady....... she does seem to have issues
one day, the 6 are going to figure out that they have her outnumbered if they stand together.... look out mady

I watch the show each week. I do think Maddie is a mirror image of what Kate probably was at that age. Also Maddie has often been pointed out as "the oldest one" which may give her the idea that she is special.

I can't imagine living with a camera rolling, but of course that is what we see; there are hours and days of their life we don't see.

Jon is a normally laid-back type, luckily for Kate. His job now allows him to work at home.

As they say, "Its a crazy life, but it is our Life."

If any of us happened to have this situation: 8 kids in 3 years, would we choose to take the path they have been offered? Hard to turn down I would think. When the children are grown I expect they will be no different in many respects than the average person. Whether we are raising 1,2, or half a dozen, they will be what they will be.

As for as discipline, I think they are handling it pretty well. One thing I admire is the fact that Kate is not catering to their likes and dislikes at mealtime, as so many parents do. Can you imagine trying to fix 8 different dinners?

I was the youngest of nine. I guess that is why I am the way I am, whatever that is!!

I expect these kids will be like most kids growing up in this crazy world.

Wow, $60,000 a show......Hmmmm, note to self...should have had more kids! LOL I had to turn this weeks show off, I couldn't take the squabbling. I have often thought i could not be good friends with Kate, her attitude irks me.
As for these reality show people doing well, how about the remodel job the Roloffs have been going through. I thought their home was beautiful they way it was. Dottie
