I love those pictures! LOL Yeah, I'm in Calgary. We *warmed* up to -23ºC! Woo! LOL We're getting more snow on Monday. I hope this is the worst of the winter, but that's wishful thinking. We get our coldest days usually in January.

Out on Vancouver Island, snowing as we speak. Already got about 8 inches, and expecting another 10 inches.

Will try to post pictures later. Too dark now, but 11 below and about 7 inches. And very windy, so makes it about 30 or more below.

When backing out, I can't see my street over the piles of snow. Late this afternoon, I shoveled off the tops of the offending piles, and when I went out, I found that I had created another pile that restricted a needed view for backing into the street. LOL - Ugh. After returning, shoveled some more - pant. Got 2.5 more inches of snow tonight. Refilled my gasoline container for the snow thrower - had used the last today. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow. Also, need to move snow off my house roof. Temperature not bad tonight, but by tomorrow, its going to drop to near 0 F with average winds of 20 mph. Now that bites.

The wind has almost as much effect on my heat loss as does low temperature.

Winter can go away now. I've had enough to satisify me.

We don't get snow where I live, but it is COLD!

Our streets are nice and clear.... I'm in pretty central in NC. Snow every blue moon but ice more often. What is it like to have that much snow and such cold temps for sooo long? Do you like it? Is it depressing after a while or do you just get used to it? Is it hard to get about or is the city good about clearing the roads? We got 21 inches here about 6 yrs. ago, which is a rarity, and we were stuck at home for 5 days. We are just not ready for snow like that and the plows took forever to get into subdivisions!

The pictures are absolutely gorgeous but since I live in Florida I can't imagine having to drive on roads like that! Where exactly IS the road??? LOL I would be so scared I couldn't even drive! But that snow is really pretty.

Orie, some people like the snow but I don't. The cold lasts too long here. Shoveling is a pain. And our subdivision is small, so we're the last ones in the city to be cleared out.

I don't think I would mind if our season wasn't so long.

Orie, it's very rare in Calgary to have temperatures like this for more than five or six days in a row. It's been two weeks and the forecast is calling for well below 0ºC for the rest of the week. I think -17ºC is the "warmest" they're calling for. LOL Is it depressing? yeah, mainly because I don't have a car anymore. My son was driving it when someone jumped the median and hit him. So while we do have a pickup truck, my husband uses it to get to work. I have to take the bus. But, I know to wear layers of clothes, socks along with thermal socks and I have thermal liners in my Sorel boots so they stay warm. I cover my face well, wear leather gloves inside suede mittens and off I go. If you walk fast, you don't have time to get cold. The nice thing is, the blue sky does break through so we get sunshine. That help A LOT! If it were to stay cloudy with this cold weather, it would be very depressing.

This was 2 days ago, we have probably another 6 inches now! I'm staying in, our road is closed right now anyway. Brrr..Kathy{{!gwi}}

I'm staying put, still snowing up here on Vancouver Island. Here's an interesting fact ~ this is the first time in about 40 years that ALL across the whole of Canada, this country has had a white Christmas at the same time!

Over the last 3 days in this part of New Jersey, I'm looking at almost 1 foot of snow. DH says the temp is rising over freezing, so perhaps some of it will melt by tomorrow.

The snow pictures are gorgeous...So far, here in SW Pa., we have no snow, YET! It's very, very cold and windy but very sunny...Sitting inside looking out, almost looks like a spring day...We're supposed to get a blast tonight and into tomorrow...Where I live, one of our son's works for the township road crew and our street is always well taken care of....

We just got back from a visit with friends. It's very nasty here in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. The snow is piling up thick & fast and lots of wind too. This picture is taken from my kitchen door looking out towards the street. You can barely see the stop sign with is about 40-50 feet away.

We must be the only place in Canada with bare streets...we have about an inch of snow on the ground,but thats about it.Believe it or not we're in the snowy part of Canada..Newfoundland"s North East Coast!Other parts of the island have been getting dumped on,but I expect it will hit us any day now!

Clear, all last week's snow and ice melted. We're expecting more, I think on Christmas Eve, fun, fun, just in time for me to drive back to work.

We would LOVE to have snow right now. Today is the first it's been cool in over 2 weeks. It was in the 70s last week. Gotta love Florida...blech.

Here's my Bronco last Friday. We had a record breaking 37.5 inches as of yesterday. Probably another 6 inches last night and another storm moving in.
