i agree. although i was sad to see that dallas and toni didn't make it to the finals, both as a competitor and a participant. i guess they were still stuck in russia waiting on new passports or recovery of the lost ones.

i was glad to see what team won
i'm amazed that the third team accomplished the race, and their talk at the end was comical
as for the other team ~~ sweet gesture. i just couldn't wait to hear her shut up already

and isn't phil the cutest? loved his dad being on it this year.

Cuthbert Grant is lovely. I finally saw it in bloom this week at the garden center and I will have to find a place for it. Also, it has a nice shape even when open. Here we go: George Vancouver. Depending on your monitor this may look extremely weird: Full bush shot. These stay quite compact: My other George Vancouver: Morden Amorette. Beautiful when fully opened. Really frilly, which was a nice surprise. Again, another bush that stays compact. Therese Bugnet: Turbo. These blooms are quite large: William Baffin going koo-koo: Hansa: Prairie Joy, again, just because it's so beautiful:

Mindy et al, I got that tall blue pot I had my eye on. It might have been $200 marked down to 40 marked down to TEN DOLLARS. I also got a big metal/copper bucket marked down from at least 150 to $37.50 (I don't think she did the math right. I'll have to check in the morning. I had wanted something like a watering trough near the bees, and this might fill the bill. Or we can use it for logs. That magnificient green pot. I met the nice guy who works the floor. I told him what I wanted to pay for it and without my knowing it he called the ?manager? anyway a woman, and she no way was she going below $160. I think the problem is there was no pink marked down price, so it was 75 % off 699. I really don't want to pay that much because I know I won't move it in freezing weather, and it may break. I'm only willing to risk 100 or less. If anyone can talk them down to $100 or less, I'll take you to LaPatisserie for lunch or Quebrada in Arlington for a cake. Could also do Lakota for a dozen cookies. There's a challenge for the bargainers out there! I'll pay you back in cash and could even meet you at Mahoneys to load and transport pot. Mindy, I saw two "maroonish" pots (one upside down, the other on top) on the pallet, next to the sky blue tall. Are those the ones you are talking about? If there was a salmon pot in the "transition room" I missed it entirely. I'm not looking at your post right this second, but I thought you said it had some branches dispayed it it. I'll look again, maybe when I check to see if the christmas tree is marked down. I wasn't too offended by the look of its branches. But then I had pots on my mind. Marie

Hmm, I miss a day or two, I miss a LOT here, ladies! I've been running a lot, distracted, and just plain scatterbrained. Must be spring fever (at least, I'd rather blame that than a mid-life crisis, lol!). I have most of Debbya's box ready to go - I just want to do one more thing, then send it on its way. It's been fun learning about your names and their history. My first name has NOTHING to do with my family heritage - my parents just liked it. My middle name, Marie, is for my mother, Mary. My daughter's first name is Juliana, for the medieval Christian mystic Juliana of Norwich. Her middle name is Pearl, for my grandmother, who died years ago. Our son's name is Ian (Scottish for John - his grandfather, great uncle, and uncle-in-law are all John/Jon, and his father is Sean, the Irish form of John). His middle name is Joseph, for one of my favorite men in the Bible. Oh, how we debated about Ian's name! He's our first, and my mother was pestering us mightily about what names we were considering. So, we had an ugly name contest, and kept telling her all sorts of outrageous choices. Keep in mind, our last name is RUDD. So, Dudley Bud Rudd, Elmer Rudd, Evan Rudd (think Evinrude motors), Vladimir Rudd (just because), etc. etc. AND, we couldn't use any names that started with C or K, because that would make his abbreviated name C. Rudd. CRUD. That cancelled out all sorts of names we happened to like, for both kids, lol! My favorite outdoors tool is definitely bypass pruning shears. Indoors, I have to say that I really MISS my dustbuster. It recently croaked after years of faithful service, and NOW I realize just how much I used it to clean up after the kids, birds, and cats. LOLOL about the moon story! Our son stayed up late to watch part of the eclipse, and really thought it was cool. Laurel

Which means I either switch to The Walking Dead at 9pm. before The Race is over, or wait and watch TWD at 10pm. Both programs have so many commercials I could probably watch each between respective breaks.

It was a great ending and very exciting all the way to the very end!

Anyone else see it?

I only saw the first show and the last, but it was fun for me because I grew up in Portland and everything looked so familiar. Well, except for those food carts-- can't figure out where they are. I loved visiting Pittock Mansion when I was growing up.

I was a nervous wreck watching it LOL, but what a perfect ending!!!! Every finale boils down to finding a cab and but more importantly a cab driver who knows where he's going...very stressful.

I agree, the right team won. I would have been so mad if the frat boys had managed to pull it off. In fact, I would bet you that the frat boys never finished that last task of remembering the things and finding the correct photo for all 10 legs. They didn't look tired enough at the end. lol

Yea for Nick and Starr, I'm very happy for them. And I read that Starr and Dallas are dating, so good for them, too!

I really think that Ken takes a lot of abuse from his nagging wife and I hope she saw what she did to him over and over and changes her tone of voice when she talks to him. He's way too nice for her type, IMO. She needs someone who will stand up to her, whether she thinks so or not.

Yes matti5. Wasn't it funny when the frat boys, once back in America, got into a cab with a driver who was not great with english and who did not know his way around?! Perfect...

We cracked up when Starr told Nick he looked like Peter Pan on the zipline. Now THAT was funny!

Do you suppose TAR pays 3 cabbies to sit around and wait for the 3 finalist teams, and makes sure that one driver is incompetent? I wouldn't be surprised.....

Oh My...we got a kick out of the Peter Pan comment also, Flamey. What a hoot...he really did look like Peter Pan. That zip line sure looked fun.

Gosh Kids, what will we watch next sunday night?

Sooey, I was thinking the same thing, what am I going to watch in it's place. Next Sunday The Survivor Finale is on, so that's two of my reality shows finished...sigh...

I did see a preview for a reality show called "Mamma's Boy" which is kind of like the bachelor, but mom gets to pick the girl LOL

At least we only have to wait until Feb for a new Survivor and a new TAR to start!

I love to travel, everyone here knows I love to travel, but I tried to watch The Amazing Race last night for the first time and got so keyed up watching them scramble that I thought for certain I'd develop an ulcer if I kept watching. LOL
