Rozanne always droops for me after a move - even if I haven't split it up. I would expect her to perk up in a day or two. I wouldn't overwater her, one good drink at transplanting time and wait. Expect her to need some supplemental watering for awhile after transplanting, but be cautious, don't water much unless it gets hot which is not the case here at this time. I also never fertilize when moving things, although I may improve the soil some, or in the case of some things that don't like heavy rich soil, thin it down some with gravel or Profile. As for the campanulas I can't help you much. They generally hate my wettish yard. Are your campanulas large nursery plants? These are usually much bigger than home grown in the garden plants at this time of the year. Did you acclimate them to the outdoors for a week or so before planting them out? We're still pretty cold here at night, and although the perennials are cold hardy, if they have been sitting inside or partially inside in a protected area of the nursery, they can take a hit when abruptly moved outside into the cold. Bigger plants & plants in bloom often look awful after transplanting. They may take some time to adjust. Just thoughts, don't know if they fit or not. Again, I would wait & see for awhile. Don't panic. It's still very early in the season. Best wishes.

Are you familiar with cutworms? They cut off thin stems a few inches or less above ground level, or cut off leaves from larger stems. Often they leave piece of the plants on the soil's surface, though not always. They spend their days curled in loose soil near the base of the plant within an inch or two of the soil's surface. If you disturb them they curl up into a tight spiral. Go out with a flashlight at dusk and look near the base of the plant and up the stems. The cutworms vary in color from tannish to greenish to brownish, and the youngest will be less than 1/4" in length while older ones can be up to about 1 1/2". You can squash them or drop them into a container of soapy water. After dark they migrate over the garden's surface to find new plants, so you may need to check more than once. With small plants you can give them a plastic collar that goes an inch or so below the soil surface and a couple inches above to discourage new cutworms from finding your plant.

Hi Danany, I am enjoying the blooms tremendously, seems like a few move open each day. I would love to have some of your streaked seed if you have any extra after yours bloom? I contitue to be amazed at how thirsty these plants are. The ones I have growing in 18" and 24 inch window box type pots with trays have to be watered twice a day. I have single: white, pink, purple/blue (Astra and other), double: white, lavender, and blue. The one that bloomed pink was a lav double. All the Astra seedlings except the blue double seem to be extremely sturdy, low growing, and covered with blooms. The double blues are puny in comparison to the others. I have been crossing the doubles on singles so far and some double color crosses. They seem to be forming healthy seed pods. John

Problem you describe is not normal. Of course, I cannot inspect your floor, but from your description, my guess is that the problem you bare having with this floor is related to the grain raise. Was a sealer applied before the waterborne polyurethane? After the first coat of finishing material was dry, was the grain raise cut? Fine grained wood flooring will show more denting than figured wood.
