Hi all-

We just got her yesterday after months of waiting. What a cutie---she just had the 'run-arounds' and passed out.

Also, here is my older dog, who has been so gentle and patient.

Had you considered placing the asiatic lilies behind the hostas? Maybe use either 3, 5 or 7 bulbs/plants in a grouping. Probably the 7 might be too much. Do you have your date set on your camera? I've decided that is a good thing to have. One can keep track of time certain flowers usually bloom, or keep a record for another reason. You can always move stuff around later if you don't like it the first year. I like that red door a lot better than the white one! What about if you used the same color scheme in your flowerbeds as in your containers on the porch? Looks like you've got room for some nice porch sitting furniture and a small table in between the chairs.

Sorry, Tish - I posted before reading your message. My urban kitchen/dining room colours are two of those taupe shades that you see everywhere now. Mine have a pinky tone to them, though, to go with the pinky backsplash tiles all over my kitchen. You can see one of the two wall colours in the photo I posted of the new table. In the kitchen I have an island that I built, painted a very light taupe colour, with two bar stools that are iron, with light taupe upholstery on the seats. The thing drives me nuts trying to capture the glow of the color. LMAO! One of these years I'm going to buy a new camera that does reds well. I still have both of my old Nikons, bought a Minolta that doesn't do rose photos well. Deb's Grandma couldn't even remember when it was planted. KP was there in the 70s is the best timeline we could come up with. It was in a photo of the yard circa 1972. It may have been planted in the 60s. I wonder how true the new bushes are compared to yours. Once I find one I'll have to compare what I see to yours. Haven't heard from SueBelle since right after Katrina. She and Eddie got through ok. Eddie works for the power company and was very busy. That was the last I heard from her too. Wanda kept telling me that our unknown (Desi) looked like Summer Dream and I kept saying Desi had been here too long to be SD.... Deb's aunt was talking about it a couple years ago. She bought it in 86. I asked if the name was Summer Dream. She was pretty sure it was. Wish Wanda would wander in here to tell me 'I told you so'. I tried emailing her a few months ago (most likely for her birthday in September) but got my email returned. I'll have to send her a card one day to see if her address is still the same. Good luck with the move! Thanks Dave. Thought you might appreciate this picture. This is an eight pack of rooted Lucille Ball. I have a few more, but they are mixed in with my other rooted cuttings. Not as nice as your monster plant, but I'm well on my way! btw, your plants look great! I've tried to root cuttings but haven't had luck.

First of all remove the fruit so as not to injure the tree. Both of these trees prefer to be in bush form. that way the leaves protect the trunk from getting sunburned. This can be fatal. You got the best food and the bes soil media choice. Paint the bucket white so that the soil does not heat up and cook the roots. .I have mine in bigger pots but there are those that think I am wrong. Your trees are much larger with your pot the same size as mine. Wait to see what other say. I can't help you on the rust problem. I would not do any pruning at all untill the trees are bigger but you should wait to see what other say. My containers not only have drain hole in the bottom but have aeration holes up the side. She is adorable! I have the puppy need so bad right now, I just turned one down this past week cause we have so many and so much on our plate right now. I'm jealous!

Aww, so cute! Both of them! I love puppies. Think DH would notice if I were to sneak in a 6th dog?

My older dog is so good, she is being careful not to step on the little one, but has hollered twice from the sharp puppy teeth...she is a wonderful babysitter. She sends the poor thing gently careening across the floor with her big paws, and pins her down with her big head when she is too much...but never uses her teeth. She has been playing and sharing both food and toys. Perhaps this will spark new life into her. Already, she seems more active and willing to participate in 'tug, fetch, etc.'

Last night, the little girl cried, and she went to go check on her.

I am lucky, indeed. With both pups...

The puppy is curled up in my lap right now-after having worn herself out. The big girl is curled up right next to us.

I don't envy you the potty training.. or has that already been done! and boy oh boy, do I remember shapr puppy teeth! LOL

The older one is named 'Zoe', the puppy is 'Ponzu' (ponzu is a citrus flavored soy sauce--I grew up in Japan, and it's an ingredient in my favorite dish)

Zoe just turned 11y/o, and Ponzu is 7 weeks...I wanted to wait uptil 8, but the breeder was adamant about 7.

She's peed 4 times in 30 minutes-after her brief nap, and created havoc for another 30-now she has passed out again...11pm will be her standard bedtime-must set up a routine.

Brings back memories of our Brutus and Ginger now since long gone. Brutus was an only dog for 3 years when Ginger was brought on the scene. He was obviously miffed at this intruder but never hurt her. He'd smack her with his paws (huge dog with paws as big as my hand) and she tumbled and come back for more. Funniest thing was the day he came into the family room with her hanging off his tail! Yep, she latched onto his tail and he just kept walking. If he could have talked, I swear he'd have said something like "Can you please do something with her".

The one shot I really love (and can't post as I'm not sure where it is) is her laying down between his paws and looking up at him. It's one of those "My hero" type things.

Sure do miss those two.

Cuties!

I have an outdoor lab that came to us very thin and with terrible/horrible skin problems. She lives in a nice garden shed w/ dog door, most of the time snuggled in her big bed. I wish her skin was better, I'd love to see her inside , like your pups.
