Must the 50th time, especiall since I have the video.

Feel like a child and can't get enough of it.

Oh, I'm watching it, too.....when my mother was still living, she, my sister and I were on a trip in the east and went to Stowe. While there, we met Maria, and my mother nearly flipped with the excitement!

Ken, that is like saying don't marry the daughter until after you see the mama. In my case, if I waited to see mature hosta before I brought the wee babe home, I'd not have a single hosta. I totally remember when I was smitten by hosta. It was love at first sight. I walked into the Asian Market in Chelmsford, and the owner had her mama's Sum and Substance in a pot near the register. I did not know that hosta grew as big as an elephant ear!! Wow. It sure made my DH's green w/white margin old fashioned hosta look pretty puny. Right now, I'm at the stage of wanting to find a list of those with good substance and any other factors which will make them endure the climate I plan to grow them in. Here on the Hosta Forum we have folks singing in three- and four-part harmony--some in New England, midwest/far north, upper south, and more recently a little squeaky note from the far south. I think it is really making some fine music. Also, successes are nice to read about, but so are the failures. Things which did not work out. Including soil mixes, sun and shade trials, infatuations for plants which turned to boredom or disappointment. A plant which started good but failed to live up to expectations. I don't think I'll ever stop choosing plants with names which are significant to me, although I'm willing to let plants by any other name surprise and delight me. A rose is a rose IS a rose after all. especially it is is a plantagenea. :)

A watcher, here, too. I thought Clint's commercial was tasteless and had nothing to do with the product. As for Joan, I think she was doing all the complaining because he didn't let her be the boss, although he certainly could have involved the gals more than he did. The other commercial, led by Melissa was funny and might have won if they had left out the cursing at the end. I thought Trumps reasoning on why he sent the two that he did, home, was lame. I;m beginning to wonder if there isn't some contractual reason whey Joan & Melissa aren't getting the boot, when I think it has been more than warranted. As for T Warkins being sent home because she 'volunteered to go to the boardroom was a farce and PLEASE don't get me wrong....I am So against drinking and driving, bu the Kardashian (sp?) gal is paying her dues for being caught doing that, and was taking responsibility for it. You can't tell me Trump didn't know about that before she was hired for this show. I think Trump used these two women as patsies so Joan & Melissa stayed around. I too hope this is the last Apprentice show, and even if it isn't, its the last one I'll follow. Dottie

Call them 'sappy' if you want to, but I love them! ! ! I love that they don't have all the foul language and sex most of today's movies seem to deem necessary. They are actually family oriented. Even many of today's so called family comedies are questionable as to suitability for kids, in my mind, anyhow. And Christmas in July? Why not? When the outdoor temps have 3 digits it's refreshing to sit back and watch cold, snowy movies. Just like I usually have some sort of snow and ice picture as my computer wallpaper. I love Christmas, too! The music, the movies, the decorations, and most of all, the true meaning behind it. That should not be reserved for a few days of the year, but practiced year around, IMHO. So some of you miss certain programs that you like, that's understandable. But surely there are other programs you could like, if you wanted to. As someone above said, it's 3 months. That means there are 9 months you get to watch your favorites, 3 times the amount of time you don't get to watch them. There are a few shows that I really look forward to seeing, that are not on in the summer, and I miss them, sure. But I find other stuff to watch, and eagerly anticipate their return in the fall. I could only find one of my Christmas cds last night, Martina Mcbride. So that's all I listened to. I thought about breaking out my dad's old Christmas albums he gave me years ago but thought it might make me start crying and I hate to cry. There is a trio of records with different instruments: strings, organs and something else I can't remember now. Then there is another single album of old, long gone singers singing Christmas songs. I might dig them out today, I'm not alone today so it may not be so bad.

We are. It's probably my 50th time, too. It was DD's favorite when she was little so I'd get her to eat her veggies by telling her to hurry eat her peas so we could watch.

Phyllis, that's really exciting. Wish I were there with you all. Sadly, I heard the youngsters later said she was not very nice to them. No elaboration though.

I wonder what happened to the Von Trapp new generation children. I heard they began performing but that's all I heard.

Just read my original post. Tisk. Tisk. Was too busy trying to watch the movie to type. That's my lame story and I'm stickin' to it!

Watching now, probably fifyith for me too. But, I love all of Julie Andrews' movies. I enjoy musicals a lot and her voice is absolutely beautiful. Everyone sings beautifully in this movie though. The story is magnificant as well. Too bad the truth wasn't as nice. I had heard the same thing about the bad treatment. I thought the last one passed a year or so ago. I maybe wrong about that though.

My father in law called tonight to tell me to tell my DH that it was on. He's only seen it a thousand times. He wasn't interested tonight. Phew! Maybe he's gotten his fill.

Oh wow, Lulie. That's a switch. It's such a girlie movie that normally men don't like it. You don't but your hubby does. My cousin just told me he is watching, too. I nearly fell out of my chair. LOL

Not watching here, although I saw it was on. Yes, it is a good movie but we decided on something else tonight. I remember a bus tour of Austria with the tour guide pointing out all the spots the film had been made. Was especially overcome with southern belle who declared every spot "Ain't that just too beautiful." Seems I remember her more than the whole tour. Budster

It was on in was in the emergency room last night while my MIL was waiting for a room to be cleaned for her. She was admitted with an irregular heatbeat. We were there 12+ hours before she finally got a bed. The Hills might have been Alive With The Sound of Music, but they didn't raise her spirits much.

Am I the only one watching Sound of Music?
