Sahmmy, no offense, that is why we have boards, so people can exchange their ideas. Actually, the 22 inch height is fine for seeing into pots, I have no trouble using tall stock pots, though mostly I use a turbo pot for boiling water for pasta, and it works fine, though some of the steam does go straight up and does not get captured by the vent. I don't have any problem flipping french toast, though I am not all that great about pancakes - sometimes the outer edge of the one being flipped falls on the top of one of the pancakes on the griddle, but I am pretty sure that is because it is so cramped on the aftermarket griddle, and I make big pancakes. I am certain the height of the vent hood plays no role. I am usually pretty good on safety. It is a Viking hood, and I installed it when I got a Viking dual fuel with open burners - I have not gone back and looked at those installation instructions, but in Googling a Viking installation manual it says " Wall cabinets above the range must be a minimum of 36â (91.4 cm) for open top burners and a minimum of 42â (106.7 cm) for sealed burner models above the range cooking surface for the full width of the range. This minimum height requirement does not apply if a rangehood is installed over the cooking surface." In the manual, the word not is underlined, so it seems pretty clear to me, they didn't see a safety problem. The vent hood is 10 inches high, so the bottom of the cabinet is 32 inches above the grate. I haven't noticed the top of the vent hood ever getting warm to the touch, so I don't think there is any real fire hazard. While I don't like bending over to switch on and off the lights, if I had to do it over again, I would at most raise it an inch or two, I still love that cabinet over the vent hood, just used it tonight.

Most of the wainscoting I've seen is several inches taller than the height of customary vanity heights. I think about 42 inches or bar height is usual. With our bathroom, they hung the sink on the wall, and the wainscoting is a couple of inches higher than the spigot handle. Since most wainscoting has a cap rail of some sort to finish it off...molding I mean....that would get it up high enough to be out of the way of operating the drain lever. That would also keep it high enough to prevent water from collecting along the top of the wainscoting too. There may be other heights, some really really high, but I only speak about my personal installation.

Every time I to the dr my BP reads high..quite high. This has been going on for years. White Coat Syndrome, anyone? I have a monitor at home, and keep track..but often I will have LOW BP symptoms. Lightheadedness, disconnected feeling, loss of motor control and sometimes I fall. Hurt myself quite badly a few years ago. After an episode, I immediately take my BP..and it's low. I eat when I'm hungry, don't when I'm not, drink a lot of water, and try to get at least SOME exercise of some sort every day, even if it's just sorting laundry. Dr can't figure it out. Didn't mean for this to be all about me..I hope you can find a solution to this problem. That "out of control" feeling is really scary. Are you taking any meds that could be causing this? Ask your pharmacist, he/she will likely know more than the dr.

Rifis, I grew Schneekoppe (Snow Carpet "Pavement,"*), and it was one of my three favorite Hybrid Rugosas. They were: Roseraie de l'Hay, Schneekoppe, and Henry Hudson. You can make an extraordinary bed with just these three, tall, medium, and short, in that order as I listed them. They are killers, literally with those thorns. I paid no attention to Schneewittchen back then...why?, who knows. Maybe because it was reported to black spot easily? Isn't it an old polyantha bred by Lambert? I grew a few polyanthas, and by far my favorite was old Pickering Nursery's version of Marie Pavie. What a rose. I grew a few other polyanthas: Sweet Chariot, Baby Faurax, and that Chamblee sport of Marie Pavie (a real dud, enormous leaves, and small blooms. * pavement=sidewalk; koppe= head; schnee=snow.
