How Low Can You Go?????

Your Blood pressure???I had dialysis yesterday.They werent gonna let me go at 100,top number.Later on in the night I felt really bad.I took it.It was 74/53.I had waves look like little clouds comming over me.I think I was about to pass out.I laid down put feet up.When I went to bed it was 85.Same this morning.

High Nick..Ficus are plants that don't like change..Though Ficus elastica (Rubber trees) aren't as picky as their cousins, Benji's, a decrease of light can cause leaf drop. BTW, do you have a green or variegated plant? Variegated need more light than green. When I grew my variegated rubber tree in a shady south window, it didn't put out much growth, the few leaves that grew were small and colors faded.. Variegated or not, I'd keep the plant in the brightest spot possible, especially since winter's on its way. An east window doesn't put out all that much light, so I imagine the artificial light was a big help. Is there a reason you want to set in lower light? Toni

I'm on the east side of my patio fence between me and my neighbor. I grow Lonicera, Clematis, Gelsemium, Akebia and Hedera helix on the fence. The first four all grew to the top of the fence before they bushed out. And all the flowers are on top or on the neighbor's side. It works fine for privacy but not so great for beauty. The ivy is another matter. It grows on both side of the fence although it is thicker on the sunnier side. However, it doesn't particularly care whether it grows vertically or horizontally so it also grows straight out along the ground (on both sides of the fence) and requires weekly trimming. After it reached maturity, it also required constant picking of old leaves. It is extremely HIGH maintenance and I wouldn't plant it again. Ever. Anywhere. Sigh. Teri

The fact that she was a nun & elderly woman added to the irony & injustice of her death. I am saddened by the fact that her death did not make greater national headlines. However sorrowful this great tragedy was, it bought attention to what she fought for Â environmental protection. Maybe her death will not change things in & of itself; but it may be a factor that eventually in some way changes things. Perhaps it was in her last hours that she made her mark in a way that could not have been done otherwise. I try & remember people like this, so their death will not be in vain. Thanks for posting the thread.

Hi dadoes, When you turn it off completely ... ... that's just before you move out, I imagine? Up here in Ontario, there's a big difference between turning the thermostat to the lowest level and turning the furnace off completely (unless you have no freezable stuff in the house). At lowest level, and in cold weather you'd better have someone check the place every couple of days to ensure that the furnace is operating, the temp usually runs around 55 degrees - stuff doesn't freeze. Throw the switch, the furnace goes to sleep, within a few days, freezable stuff has friz. When daughter and hub. bought a house that had been unoccupied for a while several years ago, the bank swore that heat had been maintained. Yeah? Well, if so, how to account for pipes, having frozen, now be leaking in about 8 places in the walls?? Big difference between thermostat turned to lowest level and throwing the switch, in many areas. Hope you can find all of the hot air that you need (at this time of year). ole joyful

I'm the opposite........I have HBP. I'm on meds to lower it.

My normal blood pressure is 110/70. If I get upset, it goes down to about 90/60.

I had 70 over NOTHING once. It was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. I remember a nurse saying "I can't believe she is still talking!"

I think you should call your Dr. (anytime when in doubt.)

Mine is very high and take meds to lower it...My mother bless her soul, had very, very high BP and she would get sick if it came down...Unfortunately, she had been admitted to the hospital for the flu and they brought it down too fast and she had a stroke...BP is nothing to mess with.....

Another one on BP meds, here. And this was before the pregnancy. However, the meds have caused it to go low many times. I would say top number not lower than 90 and bottom no lower than 60, but when in doubt, call the doc!

Funny you should ask. I was at the dr. yesterday (long story) & have a monitor at home that my family all use. My DD is tiny, about 5'2" & 110 lbs. Her BP is always very low & I was worried so I asked my dr. yesterday about it. He said anything lower than 90 is cause for concern & you should be seen by a dr. DD's is usually around 100-110. As mentioned, BP is nothing to fool around with.

I took Bob to the ER a few years ago. He had been dizzy. I took his BP and it was 70 something over 60 something. I called the doctor and they said to get him to the ER. When he got there it had dropped to 60 something over 50 something. They admitted him and he was there for several days.

Your blood pressure is too low when you start having the symptoms you described.
As long as your brain functions well and with people who don't have renal failure, you are able to produce urine adequately, your blood pressure may be low but not too low.
You need to notify your nephrologist as soon as possible.

Every time I to the dr my BP reads high..quite high. This has been going on for years. White Coat Syndrome, anyone? I have a monitor at home, and keep track..but often I will have LOW BP symptoms. Lightheadedness, disconnected feeling, loss of motor control and sometimes I fall. Hurt myself quite badly a few years ago. After an episode, I immediately take my BP..and it's low. I eat when I'm hungry, don't when I'm not, drink a lot of water, and try to get at least SOME exercise of some sort every day, even if it's
just sorting laundry. Dr can't figure it out.

Didn't mean for this to be all about me..I hope you can find a solution to this problem. That "out of control" feeling is really scary.

Are you taking any meds that could be causing this? Ask your pharmacist, he/she will likely know more than the dr.

Bulldinkie, did you go see your doctor? Sounds like they took a little too much fluid off when they dialysed you. Hope you're feeling better.
