Subject: We all need a Tree

Thought for the Day ...

When I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, after the first day on the job:
a flat tire made him lose an hour of work;
his electric drill quit; and
his ancient one-ton truck refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in silence.

On arriving home he invited me in to meet his family.

As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

Upon entering his home, he underwent an amazing transformation. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward, when he walked me to my car, we passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

"Oh, that�s my trouble tree", he replied. " I know I can�t help having troubles on the job, but one thing�s for sure - those troubles don�t belong in the house with my family".

"So I hang them on the tree every night and in the morning I pick them up again", he explained.

Then added, thoughtfully, "Funny thing is ... when I pick them up in the morning, there aren�t nearly as many as I remember hanging there the night before."

We ALL need such a tree!

This story was brought to the "Retired Old Men Eating Out" (ROMEO) meeting this morning, and I thought that I should share it ... but have no idea about its origin, so can't offer attribution.

I figure that it should be "ROMDO" - as in "Retired Old Men Drinking Out", immersed as we all are in coffee weekly ... but that church group wouldn't touch that suggestion of mine with a ten-foot pole!
