I just heard on the news that it's going up $.15 a gallon. The reason being Opec is cutting their output to raise the price of oil. I saw that coming a couple of weeks ago.

Ours went up today .27 a gallon.

Cruise ship sent me a letter saying they were temporarily cancelling the $9 gas surcharge and give us a stateroom credit to use on board.
Said if barrel of oil went over $70, they would reinstate the surcharge.

A few suggestions (plants not specific as don't know where you are) ... Think I would paint door, door frame & posts just white. Shutters, one of the greyed teals. Explore color on one of the paint mfg. websites where you can upload photo (a better one w/ less shadows) and see changes ... like @ Valspar.com.

Yes, lightlystarched, bmorepanic and salmon_slayer (what a name!), I agree, that 'V' is bothering me too. Do you think it would work if we just softened the 'V' and the countertop corners on the cabinet or would it still be too large? I am hoping to put an undercounter refrigerator there so a smaller one would not work for that purpose. But also don't want to create an eyesore. So I keep looking for pictures of something similar but haven't found anything yet. salmon_slayer, we are going with Elm cabinets, it is a local brand here (NJ), marketed as "reasonably priced" (they think :)) custom cabinets. We saw them at a neighbor's house and were very impressed so decided to use them too. One benefit - same price for inset as for full overlay. I was very happy about that and decided to go with the inset but now learning it may be harder to achieve the integrated look with the dishwasher (the doors on the full overlay help to cover more of the appliances, something I didn't consider previously), so now thinking about that one again. As far as the microwave goes, KD suggested the cabinet above the appliance garage. Well, it is very far from the fridge and also right next to the basement door. Our laundry and also a play area are in the basement so there is some traffic. Should I be concerned about it? The other option is the upper cabinet next to the refrigerator but even apart from the way it would look, it would mean dividing the upper cabinets on both sides of the range into a 24" and a 10" so loosing some storage on the right side as well.

First lower the mirror but even better replace it with a pice of art hung with the center of the pice at 60-65” IMO you have no soace for anything under the mirror or art since you come off the stairs right there. I have no idea what you consider tradional figurines maybe Royal Daulton girls.

Yes, @Fori, that's what I said to my husband about the molding there--he's a bit of a perfectionist!! I was like, you don't need that there! But he can be a little obsessive about some things! I will pull out the range later and look at the space for that pipe. In figure 3 it looks more centered than to the right where we have it. We'll have to see what we can do about it. Better yet, I will just pull it all out and redesign it. No worries. Lots of time during COVID. Thank you for letting me know @JuneKnow. Although, it's such a little space, not much can be redesigned as there are only the two walls! Better yet @User, I can just leave the backsplash until it scorches too--then pull it all down and put up something else. No different than pulling it down now. Same money and time. :)

We are at $1.69/gallon. DH filled my car for me this morning!
I wondered how long the price would go down before it started climbing again.

and DH heard a report on the news this week that it's expected to go under a dollar/a gallon eventually. No one really knows--it's going to do what it's going to do.

Will say it's still going down in my area--down to 1.41-1.45 most places (full-serve, of course, no self-serve in NJ)

It's $1.39 here at Wal Mart in Rogers, AR. $1.49 in Seligman, MO.

$1.57 yesterday, $1.69 today. Isn't it amazing how long it takes the price to drop and how quickly it is raised?

$1.59 here at HyVee. If I use a grocery receipt I get another .13 cents off. I'll get it tomorrow for sure.

Thursday on my way to work gas was 1.38 at one station, when I got off work it was cold and snowy and I didn't feel like stopping for gas. Yesterday morning it was 1.79.

I filled up at $1.53. If I had driven 30 miles I could have gotten it for 1.43...Oh, well!

Mine went down 4 cents between Friday and Sunday- $1.95 to $1.91. I've got about seven-eights of a tank. I'll fill up later this week.
