1 jar marshmallow cream

mini marshmallows

I box rice krispies

Â½ box corn flakes

couple of bags of choc.chips

Heath chips

Chow mein noodles

BUTTERSCOTCH HAYSTACK CANDY Or use chocolate OR peanut flavored morself

2 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels
1 (6 1/2 oz.) can peanuts
1 (5 oz.) can chow mein noodles

Melt morsels over medium heat. Stir in peanuts and noodles. Spoon onto wax paper. Shape into haystacks.

You don't have to add the peanuts. I rarely do.
They just add a little saltiness to the sweetness.

I use 511 regularly, where I work we provide machinery that focuses on cleaning grains, plastic extrusions, reclaimed sheet rock, reclaimed glass etc. we separate unwanted fines, or unwanted particle sizes from many various products via screening, air aspiration as well as other methods. This brings me to my question about gritty mix, I just happened upon some poly beads about 3/16 diameter, could this be used as the grit fraction in gritty mix? What I mean by grit is the the granite, or the inert fraction of the mix, the beads seem to be nearly inert, I process all my pine bark through a machine called a reel eliminator, it has various sizes of screens so I can dictate what particle size I want by varying the screen size, I always look for the bags of pine bark mulch that looks some what composted, and separate that into the fines I want, typical what ever will go through a 3/8 screen. I processed 4ea. 2.5 cubic bags in 10 minutes last week, sure makes it easy compared to my screens at home. I am wanting to make up some gritty mix primarily for some citrus trees in my greenhouse, these polystyrene beads have become plentiful and don't weigh very much. You guys are the experts and would love to hear your opinions, Thanks

Odd ingredient in baked goods? Is it just me?

From the bit of reading that I've done, cellulose in baked goods is a powder that is hydrated & turns into a clear gel or paste...i.e., it's not like chunks of sawdust in the baked goods. Supposedly useful in gluten-free products where it's used to replicate the gluten of wheat flours. Feel free to correct me if I've made the wrong assumption. I've never had a problem getting the butter wrapper separated from the butter, even with a Lab & a Sheltie anxiously waiting for me to pass it down! :)....sooo, I'm leaning towards thinking that the odd bit is some stray parchment paper as others have already mentioned. Or possibly, a flake of oatmeal??? Sometimes when I use whole rolled oats, I'll come across one that's extra chewy & kinda' sharp...like maybe a part of the husk was still attached.

Jillius, I can recommend a dishwasher safe cookie sheet and jelly roll pan but you won't like the price. I have the Gold ones which are no longer made but will come up on ebay for about 6x what I paid for them 10years ago. My Gold Jelly roll pans did not have the handles of the newer aluminum finish. They are great pans. You can thank me later once you recover from the shock :-) I second the recommendation for Demeyere. I have a mix of Demeyere and All Clad. I prefer the Demeyere everytime. Mine is the Demeyere Sirocco which they no longer make. For storage, I use all glass containers. My favorites are the Glasslock. Lots of options on the manufacturer website for containers include round bowls, containers with handles, etc. Costco carries Glasslock and for the sets, it is a great value. I have spent enough of your money for today:-) Tomorrow, we can discuss Chopping Boards and Knives!!!! Good luck!

I'd just make bars using all the stuff..
melt a few tablespoons of butter, add in the fluff (and if it's a whole bag of marshmallows half) melt until pourable..In a big bowl toss the cereals, chow mein, 1 bag of chocolate chips and the toffee bits and the remaining mini marshmallows..pour melted marshmallows over stir well and push into greased pan...You could add insult to injury and sprinkle the top with the other bag of chocolate chips..put in a 350 oven to begin the chips melting..spread and let cool........

This is a favorite at our house.

Christmas Wreaths

Makes 1 dozen

3 Tablespoons margarine or butter
16 large marshmallows
Â¼ tsp vanilla
green food coloring
2 c. cornflakes
red candy decoration

Microwave--Place butter and marshmallows in 3 quart casserole. Heat in microwave on high for 1 or 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.

Or on top of stove in large sauce pan, melt butter and marshmallows together on low heat. Stir till smooth.

Stir in vanilla and then a few drops of green food coloring. Blend in corn flakes. Butter hands well and drop by heaping teaspoons onto waxed paper. Shape into wreaths immediately. Add (holly berries) red candy decorations while still warm. Cool. Store between layers of waxed paper.

Easy candy/cookie--Melt the chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler or deep dish over pan of hot water so you don't scorch the chocolate, and stir in the Chinese noodles. You can mix in rasins or some nuts or marshmallow bits too. Drop spoonfuls onto wax paper to cool. Store in cool place.
