The funniest commercials on TV...

to us, anyhow, are the Mac/PC ones. WE have a DVR, and I stop and watch those ads when I'm fast forwarding.

I was afraid the Mac guy would quit when he started making movies, but not so far. The actors are just perfect for the ads.

I like the one where the teenage girl gets a pony and her friends get cell phones.

I like the one where the fastfood worker sounds so big and proud over the intercom. Then he realizes that his supervisor/manager is listening. He completely changes his voice and says, "Pull through to the second window."

Tom- I think I'll have to tune in next week. As a former Philly resident I'd love to see those PPA ticket writers take on the double and triple parked cars in South Philly. Or those people who think it's perfectly fine to park in the middle of the street (at least they're not double parked). And since it's winter do you think they'll go after all those drivers who shovel the snow from their cars, and then put out lawn cars in the street to 'save' their space until they get back home. I remember a few years ago one guy actually shot his neighbor because the neighbor took his parking spot. Ah - those were the good old days, parking on the streets in Philadelphia. I used to live in NE Philly too. Our apartment was on Strahle Street and I worked at the Northeast Regional Library on Cottman. Now that I'm in the suburbs I have my own driveway. Happy parking to you!

What I hate are the pop-ups WHILE you are watching a show....you know...the ones promoting an upcoming show. A pop-up isn't going to entice me to watch a show I'm not interested in...period....no matter how many times you repeat it. And I don't even like the channel logo on the screen....I am WATCHING the channel, I already know what channel it is for crying out loud. I would like to see a movement to stop the incessant promoting...it takes away from the program and serves no purpose...other than to tick people off!

Regarding the bear and the toilet paper ... ... remember a couple of years ago that someone showed a comic illustration of a bear and a bunny, where we saw a rear view of both while they were going poo ... ... and the bear asks the bunny whether it bothers him (I imagine they're both "him"s) when he gets poo on his fur, and but bunny says, "No" ... ... so the bear grabs the bunny and uses him the fulfill the toilet paper function?? I think that it may have been Moni who posted it, for I came on a couple of days later when I wanted to print it to say that it had disappeared, so the original poster sent a copy directly to me. If you read this, original poster, ... thanks again: I enjoyed that one and passed it around ... even sprung for the 15 cents to have it done colourfully. What mainly gets to me about the inane commercials is that they can't wait ten minutes to play the same one over again. Plus ... I agree: when you find one *really* annoying ... write the sponsor to share your thoughts with them. ole joyfuelled ... with a bit o' help occasionally from funny cartoons

I just saw the commercial and it's hard to tell because you never get a full on unblocked view but from what I did see,that print reminds me a lot of paintings from the Hudson River Valley school and also Bierstadt's work in Yosemite. Both can have that kind of misty look. Do a search for them and see what you think. Not sure if you'll find that exact print but you'll surely be able to find things with that feeling.

The PC guy (John Hodgman) is involved in a great many things not just TV commercials. I found him in Wired Magazine a few months back and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

You can read about John Hodgman as well as Justin Long, the Mac guy on Wikipedia (see link below).

Being in the design and ad business, I like to watch most commercials but can't put my finger on just one series that I really like at the moment.

Me, too, Bunny Lover..those Happy Cows ads make me LOL.

Right now, I especially crack up over the cows trying to teach the duck how to MOO instead of the OHM chant. lolol

I like the ones that don't reveal the product until halfway through the commercials. So for the first 15 secs I'm thinking "Where are they going with this?"

Like the Staples ad right now. Starts off with electronics flyer through various holiday scenes. Finally shows the baby banging away on the "Easy" button.

The happy cow commercials are some of my favorites. I also like the windex commercials where the crows ring the doorbell.

Kat and Nells ~ both of those commercials are really good. I've never seen them on tv before.

This one from from Superbowl 2007 just cracked me up! You have to listen to it all the way to the end :-)
