What I really hate is when the same commercial is shown more than once in a commercial break. Happens a lot these days.

My hubby drives me nuts, flipping channels whenever a commercial comes on. I have to scream at him to put the original channel back on!

that is why I dvr almost everything so we can just skip the commercials. I will stop and watch a cute one though.

I once counted on the clock - 8 minutes of commercials before a show started. We get even more commercials in Canada if a show is picked up and shown simultaneously by a Cdn. network. I hate most of them. The bad news is that I can remember them - but the good news for me is that if I really hate the commercial I don't buy the product being hocked!

Absolutely! I was trying to watch something, anything, on TV the other day, and as I flipped from channel to channel, it was was ads ads ads! JUNK TV!

I mostly tape things and watch Neflix. Netflix is worth every cent.

I can only think of one commercial TV program other than the news that we watch *live*: "Jeopardy", once a week. That must set a record for a majority of commercials and blather v. content.

We record and watch a few commercial programs like "Mad Men". Some BBC-America programs have commercials. We just whip through the ads on these. DH is only interested in 'his' baseball and football games, and only if the teams are doing well -- infrequently of late.

We're able to dodge most of these 99% annoying 'messages'. Only the "Ask Your Doctor" ones raise my blood pressure. Why can't the US join the rest of the first world in banning prescription drug advertising?

I wonder WHY anyone would want to take the prescription drug they advertise after they list all the side effects.

Some shows take longer to FF through the commercials than it does to watch the short segments of a show. That's annoying but I'm glad I am able to record the shows to watch later without commercials.

I agree that the DVR/PVR is one of those inventions that I would have a hard time giving up. I only watch recorded programs and whip through the commercials as fast as I can.

Don't tell just us ...

... tell the TV stations, and the advertisers ...

... with specifics about what it is about them that's been getting your goat.

It's somewhat like with the politicians ...

... if they hear from, one ... or two ... or a half dozen ...

... they may listen, most likely only slightly ...

... but when they hear from a hundred, they pay attention ...

.. and if from a thousand ...

... things start to happen!

There's a Jimmy Johns commercial running that's what I've always heard was how most porno movies begin. It was on at 6:52 on Saturday night. Hardees also runs sexist commercials using half naked women orgasming over a sandwich. And the candy bar, "You know you want it........" isn't that what the rapist says? I've filled out the online comments at those web sites. They don't care. The Jimmy Johns people said it was their advertising company's fault. HUH?? Who pays the bills at the advertising company?

Dorothy, my DH and I can not even figure out what some of those drug's on the commercials are for? I can not see my dr giving me a drug I saw on a commercial??

lov_mykitchen, I hate those danged ole sex commercials the most! It is so nasty~~~I would never buy their product!

I usually watch my main TV show and switch over to a cooking show, when commercials come on, now I can not
do that. Most channels seem to be doing their commercials at the same time GRR

I don't like some of the commercials either, but without them you would have no shows.

I really hate those long, long infomercials for dumb products, even charities have these long long ones.

Has anyone seen the Martha Steward one hawking cough drops, there's something oddly weird about how she presents it.

What I hate are the pop-ups WHILE you are watching a show....you know...the ones promoting an upcoming show. A pop-up isn't going to entice me to watch a show I'm not interested in...period....no matter how many times you repeat it. And I don't even like the channel logo on the screen....I am WATCHING the channel, I already know what channel it is for crying out loud. I would like to see a movement to stop the incessant promoting...it takes away from the program and serves no purpose...other than to tick people off!
