Of course it's subjective and not all possible answers are there but it's kind of an interesting little quiz if you're interested.

That's the equivalent of 611 toilet seats!

oh well...I guess I'll stop "licking" the screen to clean it..

It seems that everything is more expensive in my area. I used to pay $55.00 for DirecTV, no premium channels. I don't have a cell.....my land-line phone was $50.00 w/caller ID and 200 Min. Long distance. I had dial-up for $21.95 mo. I tried the cheaper ones and they were dreadful! I now have a combo package which includes Digital Cable + Stars & Encore premium channels and Tivo for 2 TV's, High-speed internet (will never go back to dial-up), and phone service still with caller-ID and unlimited long distance, and I now pay $118.00 mo. Not a great savings, to be sure, but with more options. I think it is a rip-off, the prices these companies get, especially for phone service, and scryn......I have never had phone service as inexpensive as yours, even when it was bare-bones. That must be awesome!! :>)

Patches, are you saying you tried number 2, or was that testimony part of the text? I call 800-free-411 from land lines, too. It's a pain in the butt. LOL I guess these are worth trying to see if they work. If not, then nothing is lost.

I am sure it does, but she even changed batteries at the time and it didn't make any difference. The outside part is now normal and she can make and receive calls on it, but the inside screen is black. I will post more if it comes back on. At the time she was talking with me she commented how much she was sweating. I imagine she was holding it between her cheek and shoulder as she picked. We were making plans to go into town. When I dropped mine in the bucket of water and after it dried out and new battery, it still didn't light up on the inside, acted just like hers does. Sent it off to Verizon and they wanted $95 to fix it! No thanks. Sue

Haha. The email is clearly real. I got one and thought nothing more of it until coming upon this thread. There's an irony with this. Two-step authorization measures are implemented, in part, precisely because people get hysterical about security and perceived risks. So the very measure used to address those who are worried about security, is distrusted by those same people and leads to more feelings of risk and insecurity. Too many folks, especially oldsters, don't want to be confronted with truth or fact that conflicts with a view they've reached and want to cling to. It's unbelievable. Those of you who want to think of the email as being phony are entitled to do so. Just don't be shocked with what happens the next time you try to sign in to the SSA website (you'll be asked to supply a cell phone number to receive a text). I just tried it out, it works fine. Those who don't have a cellphone can call or visit a SSA office. This isn't a big deal, it's just an added security step for web access. Yawn.

wow only 719,020 or 144 toilets! i am pretty aware of constant germs, wash my hands often, clean my phone etc... now my desk phone is somethng else, it REALLY needs cleaning! ~ liz

Dr Oz had that on his show yesterday, he said to use antibacterial wipes on your phone several times a week. Mine is way over due!

But they are MY germs! Nobody but me uses it and I never lay it down in a public place.It's always in the case when I'm out and when I'm home it's either in my pocket or in my bra! Can you get breast cancer from carrying your cell phone in your bra? Hmmmmmmm.....something else to worry about! LOL

But that doesn't take into account that I only turn on my cell phone when I am leaving the house (2 to 3 times a week usually) and that my phone is always in my purse. Rarely use it... I'm not a phone person. On the other hand, my keyboard is probably brimming with germs!

You can make your own antibacterial wipes.

Anti-bacterial wipes
Things You'll Need:

1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup baby lotion
heavy duty paper towels
airtight plastic containers or gallon size re-sealable plastic bags.

1. place paper towels in a stack in a large plastic containter.

2. Mix well the rubbing alcohol and baby lotion.

3. Pour mixture over stack of paper towels and seal.
Let sit until liquid is completely absorbed into the paper towels. May take several hours.

Place wipes into gallon size resealable bags, or reuseable coantainer
