Have you seen the x-ray & you are sure it's yours! I have never heard of it so I think if I was told that, I might go to a completely different dr. & see what he says. Try to check out the Dr. on line. Always good to see if they have any problems with patients or if they are in good standing. I even check out dentists! Have you tried finding this problem at Web Dr. or Mayo Clinic or some hospital website so you can see how it is usually treated.

Bigbaby, this is just my opinion, but I would like to suggest that you do wear your Birkies to get to the bathroom from the bed and perhaps buy some crocs to wear to the pool. Water can't hurt them. About the exercises: Before you get out of bed every morning, sit on the side of the bed and move your feet in circles, then write the alphabet with your toes. The doctor didn't tell me this, but before doing that while I was sitting up in the bed I bent my leg so I could easily reach my foot. I massaged the arch of my feet ( I had it in both feet )with my thumb and then just gave my feet a general all over massage. Once I got out of bed or when I stood up after sitting in a chair I stood about two feet from a wall. I put both hands on the wall. I can't remember if you have it in one foot or both. If it is one foot, put that leg behind you. Keep it straight and stretch til you can feel the back of your calf stretching. While doing this you will need to slightly bend the knee on the leg in front. You don't want to stretch that one. I cannot remember how long to hold that stretch, but I would say maybe 20 to 30 seconds. Do not bounce while stretching. Just do it slowlly. It will help alleviate some of the pain you normally feel when you first get up. You can do that stretch several times a day. I still do it occasionally. When I had PF I found a message board , but that was a few years ago and I have no idea what it was or where it was.Sorry I can't help you there. Linda

Thanks to everyone who has given me suggestions so far- I am still trying to figure out the process. I spent a month in the recliner with a fracture a couple years ago, and know it tooo well. I have had the facing wall painted a different color, got rid of the rolltop desk, and put different pictures on the wall....lol...at least this time I have some control over what I will be staring at...also got an ereader since I won't have both hands to hold and turn pages. I am gathering up necessities, chapstick, emery board, tape, pens (like I will be scribbling with my left hand...not...) and things like that in a basket next to chair. I will have my husband fabricate some kind of handle that we can remove later to flip up the recliner. He can build anything.. I am still worrying about clothes, I have checked out the thrift stores for some 3x mens shirts, maybe I could "femimize" them a little. Haven't found any yet..will only need maybe 4-5, then should be able to use something else. I hope. At least with some before time planning and help from my garden web friends, I should have this under control when it happens... Now, if somebody would make me quit stress eating...I should get a couple 6-packs of SlimFast since I won't have my fork hand to feed me for a while... Pam
