A weird email I just got.....

I opened my email a little while ago to find two emails from my youngest sister. The first one was in response to one I'd sent her today. However, as I'm reading the second one, it made no sense. My first instinct was her email had been hacked and someone else had sent it. I opened up the 'properties' of it. The email was from her old email address from long ago, and it was sent to my old email address from years ago!!! It was sent on April 11, 2007!!!! I wonder what galaxy it's been hiding on??? I think I hear Rod Serling's voice and the theme song from Twilight Zone.

BTW, when I realized when it was written, the message then made sense. It had to do with a problem with sister Annie's bed from that time period.

I know how you feel...once I got a text at about 7am from a friend that said, "I'm lost". I was thinking, "huh?", so I texted her back and asked her what she was talking about. About 9 months before we had planned a camping trip together, and they got lost on the way out there...she had sent me that text but I got no phone service, so it was just bouncing around the universe for 9 months before it finally came through!! It was so strange!

Cyber space can be weird at times. That's why I don't fully trust it. If I send someone an E-mail that requires a response and there's someone who hasn't responded, I always call. this summer I got an E-mail supposedly from one of my golfing buddies saying she was stuck in England, had been robbed and needed cash to get back to the states. Since I was suppose to be golfing with her in two days, I knew it was a hoax. When I saw her I said I knew it wasn't from her because if she was stuck in England, she would have been asking me if I could sub for her. LOL

PYREX , TOO ???? Sheesh . I have the attitude that China doesn't give a rat's behind about safety -- all they care about is profit. Look at the baby formula ~~ the Dog Food ! ---- I don't even believe the swine flu vaccine is as safe as they say because it's coming from China. ( just my opinion ) Here's another tidbit I found out . I was finally a good girl & went for a mammogram after being 5 years late ( LOL ) . I asked the technician why the big push on breast cancer compared to all the other cancers? Here's her reply .... Alot of the cancers in women have high levels of estrogen involved. ( Testing results) Estrogen is everywhere in the environment whether we know it or not . In fact -- old Tupperware -- gave out huge amounts - even the kid's toys. Since the studies ...( she didn't say how far back it was ) Tupperware changed their whole formula . That's why even men can get it . Boy - if one thing won't kill you - another will . Sad.

I have gotten calls re my DGD's ex's sister! I don't know her, have never met or even seen her. She lives in California; I have never been in California; as far as I know she has never been in Virginia. I recognized the name and asked my DGD about it and she said it would have been a collection agency because the girl has been in $$trouble for a long time. She has a first name that could be male or female. When the caller asked if I knew HIS address, I knew they didn't even know who they were looking for. I would love to know how they got my number. CR, I hope you don't get any more calls. Hope I don't either. Sue

Oh, you'll have such fun! I've been nagging my husband to go to Mom's grave with me--because our Penzey's is only a few miles further. Sort of a hassle to get there, so I like to do at least 2-3 things in the area. There's also a candy/nut wholesaler in the area that we stop at, if we're 'in the neighborhood'. They have jars of every spice that you're invited to 'sniff'. The whole place is just so much fun. But take plenty of $$$$---you WILL be coming home with a big bag of new spices.

"I really hate how the government creates such havoc in people's lives!" Just thank your lucky stars there is even such an agency as Social Security to provide those who really need it with some sort of meager retirement income. I doubt it will be around long enough for our children and grandchildren to benefit from this program. Yes, it's bureaucratic and complicated to deal with but it sure as heck beats the alternative......which is nothing!!

That would really freak me out too. A couple of weeks ago I got a voice mail from someone, they had left it about a month before that.

It's happened to me, too. I got an e-mail from my cousin that had been sent many months prior. Weird, isn't it? I can understand a piece of snail mail getting lost and found later, but where does electronic stuff 'hide'?

That is crazy. I've had text messages not go thru or even voicemails but email almost 4 yrs old? I wonder how it found you.

This why I keep a landline with a corded phone for emergencies. If the power goes out a corded phone works, 911 has your address not just a general location. I guess never throwing stuff out comes in handy sometimes! Chalk it up to living in hurricane area!

A person was just arrested as he'd texted one of the local prosecutors offering drugs... dialed the wrong phone number -- I didn't read the article completely, but I guess he'd done it a couple of times & then they set up a 'sting' for him..

My sister emailed me with what happened. I still don't understand it all, but my sister said when she switched from dial up to DSL a few years ago, a lot of her old messages from dial up server got saved somehow to the DSL server. (She didn't know that.)When our phone company was bought out by another, these old emails somehow 'surfaced' and were jamming up her current system. When the new company tried to delete these messages, these old emails were re-sent during that process. As for why I still received it even though my new email took effect almost 5 yrs ago, for some reason, the cable company is still forwarding emails from the old address.

I've enjoyed reading about some of the rest of you having similar problems. I really don't get how that delayed voice mail could have happened. Eerie......

My DH once received an "emergency" phone message on his cell phone---3 days after it was sent!!! I was furious and called Verizon. Was told that these things happen. What a crock!
