I just uploaded to them tonight. I had no problems. I just checked my email, didn't get anything from them. I have no idea what they are talking about in your email. Maybe someone else can help.

I use photobucket a lot and I haven't received an email like that. Hmmmmmm...that is wierd. I don't get it. I am going to look around and see what I can find out.

Was it addressed to you, or did it come in suspect mail?

I don't see any http://i35 on any of my links. Frankly I think it is likely bull crap.

I just received the same email and was wondering about it. I do have pics "stored" there...but hardly ever use/link to them.

Les, I haven't received an email either, but it really sounds fishy to me. Why would they say you are doing something incorrectly when the links you use are what they provide? I don't think any business would do that. And what if you have literally hundred of images stored in your account? Would a business expect you to go through every single one and change it? Lastly, not all of the links begin with http.

Ok gang. I went to p-bucket and see they even have a forum there. Someone just asked about it there.

P-bucket Support:Check your links to see where you have incorrectly linked and update them.

Support:You may have linked a very long time ago before they had all the different servers. Some people also right click on images to get the URL and link that way. It doesn't always work correctly that way.

I emailed photobucket some months ago for an unrelated problem. They answered quickly. I wouldn't trust that email or go to any link that may be on it. Go to the site and email them. They'll know about it whether it's real or fake. Linda

When I have a pic I want to post from my album, I click on the words "HTML Code" and a yellow sign pops up with the word copied (in yellow) then I come over here to this reply box and right click, and choose paste. It gets written in HTML in the response box, but when you go to preview the message, the picture shows up normally.

It might be easier for you to do post this way if you are able, then you don't have to bother with the link stuff. Just my opinion.

In a nutshell...some pics that folks have posted here and elsewhere may quit working after the 24th. I'm guessing there will just be the dreaded red X instead of a pic.

Boy, Leslie. I agree with those people on Photobucket's forum. Comparing the email's wording with what is actually happening makes the email very confusing and chastising. In case you haven't had a chance to read it yet, they're saying if you use the links that are provided by Photobucket (the ones under your pictures), your pics will be okay.

However, if you have something posted on the web from several years (doesn't say how long ago), then they are old links and might not work because they were hosted by Photobucket's old servers they no longer use.

Or.....if someone sees your pictures on the web and right clicks on them to get the URL and post elsewhere (bandwidth theft), then those pics will not show up as of March 24th because they were improperly linked.

So no, you don't have to modify anything in your account. Only those links (to the actual posted pictures) that were posted many years ago and those that were posted using the picture's URL (by right clicking) will have to be corrected.

If you posted anything like that on a forum like this one, where you cannot edit your posts, then those pics will cease to show and an error message (not a red x) will replace them.

Yes, I got that email too, also the next one that said to ignore the first one. It was sent in error.

I didn't get the email, probably because I don't often post my pictures anywhere on the web. If I do post one, I open it and copy the url from the address bar.

WELL...I feel leftout! LOL I didn't get any, and I have 2 sites that I pay for and 2 that I have made with the free sites.

I did look last night after I got that e-mail, and the link I use for posting pictures did have the i35 in it already. Glad it's all straightened out.
