Several years ago I saw some rusty peeling-paint ice cream parlor chairs in my daughter's yard. She told me I could have a couple of them. DH said NO. That I wasn't going to bring home any more junk. Later a friend and I went to get them (after dark) and I hid them in the bushes. Not long after I found a table to go with them and hid it under a blanket in the spare bedroom. He found the chairs. I painted, recovered the seats and I had a pretty little set for the patio. He finally admitted that he liked them although I had to DRAG it out of him.

Marilyn, Have you started reading the Grace series by Beverly Lewis? She has just come out with that series, #1 is "The Secret", and #2 is "The Missing". Also, have you ever read any of Lynn Austin books or Tamera Alexandra books? Lynn Austin is an all time favorite of mine and Tamera T. also. Lynn Austin is really, really good she will keep you spell bound from the beginning. "A Proper Pursuit", "A Place to Call Home", and "Hidden Places" are really good ones, but ALL her books are Great. She is comming out with a new one this Oct. She is the only author that I will ask my family to buy her books for me for Christmas at full price. LOL.

Yes MamaGoose that is a wonderful thought provoking image. You and LL have been rung through the mill. I also had a few issues with medications for Joe. This is when I started to keep a detailed journal. Some thing that could not just be heard from me but written so the doctors and nurses would see I was keeping details and when he was told to take this or that med is showed up in his food journal as barfing his guts out. Stop the meds he was better. And even though these meds were supposed to keep him from getting sick they did not work that way. I was also very frustrated on the way they were taking care of him in the hospital. His skin was horrible and his toe nails were awful. No one even bothered to look at his feet but me. Interesting the first thing the home health nurse looked at was his feet and she was pleased I had cared for them She said it is common in hospital to neglect the feet. And when they brought him food they did not open the container even after notes taped to the tray and written on his board in the room. I would get there and everything closed up. He could not open the containers so he would go hungry. He was too out of it to ask. I had to spoon feed him for a couple weeks after we got home. Sometimes he fell back to sleep eating half a cup of custard. LBD sounds like a horrible disease. Spiders coming from the ceiling is more than enough to make a person go over the edge. Feeling so bad for your and and Hubby. MG and LL. We did get some sun. We canceled the dentist appointment yesterday AM. too much snow and emergency weather alerts saying stay off the roads. I think we got 5 or 6 inches of snow but at some point in the night there was a bit of rain so it laid down an ice slick under the snow. This morning we woke to sun and about 13 degrees. We did breakfast then out to put the snow plow on the ranger. Joe had about half of it done then I went out to help him do the rest. I know he wanted to do it all by himself but it is good for me to refresh my brain on how it goes on and comes off. Then I went off to the post office and Joe plowed the driveway. LOL He even plowed a swath across the back yard for the kitties to travel on their adventures.

I tried a trio of citrus at my last house here in Temple: 1 dwarf lemon, 1 dwarf lime, 1 dwarf orange. Didn't really care if they produced fruit, just wanted the flowers, scent and insect action on the blooms. They would come back beautifully each year off their roots, even after multiple freezes, they'd get about 4' tall by winter again. They'd die back kand the cycle would just repeat itself. I think you have to be way down in the Houston/Galveston area to have much success with citrus. There's a reason Florida dreads freezes each year on their orange crops. I gave up and finally just dug them up, as I kept getting stuck with their thorns and reaped no blooms or benefits. Now Duranta, I had great luck with. Had two huge ones flanking the entry of my driveway. Loved the blooms; loved the winter berries; loved how they could die off in winter to the ground and come back with a vengeance and look better and better each year. Didn't like how they killed out the St. Augustine underneath them, but they are pretty summer heat and winter freeze hardy in zone 8.
