I know that's the latest thing in braces. They're doing everything they can to make wearing braces cool. I think it's a great idea.

I like it. Georgysmom this color stuff has been around as long as my kids have been in braces and longer, at least 17 years ago. They went threw some new fangled braces that don't use bands at all for a while. Son just got his second set off about two months ago. He's 20!
I agree seeing their smiles looking so straight and shiney, makes me very happy they endured the braces.

My grandson got blue and orange braces!

He'll do great until he tries to chew! My Stepson had to have braces for 3 years and his mouth killed him when he tried to chew solid food - warm salt water will be his best friend for a while. We will pray for your DGS!

When our daughter had braces she had different colors
all of the time! I really liked the the hot pink ones!

I wore braces as an adult and had fun with the colored bands. A friend told me a tip that really helped after I had an orthodontist appointment to get the wires tightened. The next day is generally when my teeth hurt the most. My friend recommended something that sounded like torture but I gave it a try after he promised me he wasn't kidding.

When I would get home from the orthodontist, he told me to slice up a crisp apple, I used Fuji, and eat it. At first I said "no way, that will hurt!" My friend assured me it wouldn't. He was right, and the next day my teeth didn't hurt. I don't know what it was, perhaps increasing the blood flow? Or something. I don't know what it was but everytime I would come home from my appt I would slice an apple and eat it, and the next day would feel fine. I told a couple of friends who tried it, and got the same result. I'd be curious if anyone here tries it and has a similar experience.

No, I ate the whole apple. Just make sure he slices the apple and eats it that way. You're not supposed to bite into an apple wearing braces. The guy at work who told me this was someone who I bantered with for fun. At first I thought he was kidding me, and no way was I going to bite into an apple after having my braces tightened. He had to swear to me that he wasn't joking with me. Of course when I went to work the next day and had to confess to him that he was right, that was sure hard! I had to listen to his "I told you so!"

I had braces as an adult about 15 years ago. I always had them change the colors to match the holidays or whatever.

Might as well have fun with it.

The day I got my braces off my Orthodontist gave me a little gift bag of snacks I had to avoid. Things like caramels and other sticky stuff,some nuts and hard candy.

I never had bad pain. Just a bit of discomfort for a day after each adjustment. I did always carry wax with me for those times when the wires would poke or chafe.

Actually, they still ARE the "old silver ones"... just colored bands around the brackets.

I just got my braces off in September... no odd colors for me!
