never seen a bowling ball quite like it. looks better than those covered in marbles. hand cranked ice cream is the best you'll ever taste.nothing cools you off faster.i got my parents old one. and mine still works after 20 something years.

Nice finds! Funny thing is I sprayed painted my BB in a multitude of colors before I started gluing marbles... So the colors peek out... I think it's looks really cool.

The ice cream bucket brings back memories for me too. I think half the fun was the anticipation of waiting for the ice cream to be ready, and taking turns turning the crank. Dustyknees, do you still make ice cream with yours? So many don't bother anymore. Lefd05, are you planning to use it to make ice cream or as a planter?

That is a wonderful BB, no embellishments needed. And I can just see some holly or poinsettias in the deer basket. Good finds.

I thought the ice cream freezer was cute, its barely a two quart size, smaller than most. I think I'm going to use it to display with many of my other green kitchen collectibles. I have a nice electric one for making ice cream! :)It did remind me of when I was a kid and my parents had a hand crank one. I used to have to sit on top of it while they took turns cranking it.:)

The box you see in the background is one that I use for a shelf for some collectibles. It normally hangs on the wall in the kitchen and I had set it out on the porch so I could clean it up some.

The BB will eventually be a fountain. I won't be adding marbles to that one! LOL! Its cool just the way it is.:)

yep luvsto. worth the bother. you can switch arms when one gets tired. even rest a bit between turning the crank.
rock salt. vanilla flavoring. regular milk and sugar is all you need to make vanilla ice cream. you can add cream if you wanna get fancy. last time i made it about two sundays ago. i sliced 2 bananas and added them just as the ice cream was hardening.lip smacking good. i bought an electric ice cream freezer once. maybe in my mind. but the best flavor comes from the old crank it up.
