A sad day

One year ago today we lost our beautiful daughter. She will always be in my heart but I miss our daily chats & the love which grew more & more each year. I know she is in a better place & for the first in many years she is not in pain. RIP Liz we love you.

To lose a child is especially difficult but to lose a loved one around the holidays just seems to magnify it. Wallow in those precious memories and enjoy this festive season in Liz's honor.

Mizann, I do not have the answer but to me a compromise would be to not allow any guns that are not single fire. Hunting does not require full or semi automatic fire. For those who carry or have guns for self/ home protection they should maybe not go so far as to have full or semi multiple fire guns and be limited to single shot before re-load. Not owning a gun myself I do not know how the laws work in each state but perhaps a longer than already in place waiting time to own a gun. In some states that have a three day wait, well maybe a hothead will not have cooled off enough by then. Of course the bad guys will still be able to come by the full and semi automatic fire on the black market. It would take time to eventually confiscate these gun types and then you would only get a percentage. I think over time it would help though with the availability of full and semi automatic fire guns falling into the hands of those who commit these horrendous shootings like the latest. Annie, I would respectfully like to hear your take. I really would, so please do not go. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on a compromise. Or if you think there should not be one. Nancybee, I am also an agnostic! See we do have something in common even though we did not vote the same way. It is a MYTH that everyone on a particular "side" is Christian. My family is Christian though and voted your party. See, this is what I'm talking about when asking people not to lump people together by party. Henry and others who are not located in a HOT ZONE-- If you live in an area where RRD is running rampant the odds of the distorted growth symptoms being the result of Roundup or similar is nothing but wishful thinking. When it hits us, we all wish... but in our heart we know. The key is to remove fast to prevent loss of healthy roses and killing the mite if you approve of spray. Any article written later than last year is partially or completely out of date; so In researching RRD be sure to check the date. So sorry for your loss. Your kitty had a good life and knew he was loved. I just lost my beloved Maine Coon Bijou 4/4/20 very suddenly, and have not been able to find a new MC kitten to love yet, so I know how you feel. I am in the market to buy a little house here. When I do, I intend to turn a corner of the backyard garden into a memorial spot for all the kitties I've had for 46 years and lost. Your hosta Eternal Flame gives me some ideas. Drove by the distant garden on Saturday. The neighbor has everything moved out of the way in his garden for the tractor guy. He is still a no-show but there is some time. Yesterday, I raked and hauled tree leaves to cover some plants in the yard and extra to compost. Will rake front lawn today (but thought it contributed a nice "ambiance" for Halloween ;o). It was 24°f yesterday morning so today, I will carry the winter squash out from under tarps (& on a pallet) in the carport, down basement stairs, to their winter storage shelves. We are supposed to have warmer mornings but another sprinkle of rain so curing the squash outdoors may no longer make any sense. I think that most of this counts as "closing down the garden," yes? Dear (((((Mary3444))))),

How hard it is to spend extended time with a loved one who suffers chronic pain, especially when it's of the kind that we can do nothing to alleviate, except encourage them to pay attention elsewhere.

I hope that your heart has been able to find some peace in the intervening months.

How true it is ... that our loved ones are only here with us on loan.

May the happy memories help as you bring her back to mind.

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts. This year has been hard in many ways but knowing she is at peace is all I need. I thank God for my husband every day, without him I would go crazy. I never hear from my gs because of his father but I have learned to accept that also. Life has to go on & some things you can never change.

There's no way I can know how heartbroken you are, because losing a child must be the worst thing in the world. I wish you peace of mind. I know that's easy to say, but I really do hope you can someday soon find it.
