reaction to aspirin-long, sorry

My 23 year old DS took aspirin for the first time on Friday night. He then got some pain in his stomach, which persisted and steadily became more severe until last night, when we took him to ER. He also had some nausea, but the pain he experienced was the bigger problem. Four hours prior to the aspirin, he had taken tylenol (he has a broken foot). We took him to the ER when we saw that those two meds should not be mixed (didn't know that, we're practically drug virgins). The ER doctor did not think it was a problem, due to the relatively low dosage, and said that he is simply sensitive to aspirin.

Tonight he is still in pain, and he is very nauseous. I've looked on different sites, and I can't find the expected duration of these symptoms. I also noticed that his symptoms do seem different from typical aspirin sensitivity, but I have to assume the ER doc knew what he was talking about.

Anyway, does anybody know how long these symptoms should last, or know where I can find the information? I seem to be having trouble finding this on my own.
