Sharing my grandma moment with GS and his surprise

He is such a sportsman in every way.

His daddy has a lakehouse and loves fishing but no boat to fish from.

So I bought him a fishing boat from Bass Pro, which we had planned on taking him to the lake to see his surprise, but the weather put a hold on that.

Gave him two envelopes, one with the boat decals, another with the boat registration, then to car to find the trolling motor and back inside to see the boat on the pc screen.

Lots of hugs, of course.

VERY cool, Glenda! you can see how really happy he is about it too! that is awesome! make sure he has and uses a PFD (personal flotation device)! it's the law here in FL and i'm sure in AL too. ~ liz

Awwww Glenda..that was so cool!! Hard to tell whose smile was the biggest!!! That boat is going to give grandson and his Dad a lot of bonding time!! I can see them in it now, fishing and doing "guy talk"!!!

I know what all of you mean. It seems like i'm always coming across a surprise plant. i say the birds bring me presents from seeds. I had some false solaman's seals appear one year. and another year a vine started climbing up the oak tree by my porch it took me over a year to find out a name for it. I collared a forest ranger and he told me it was called a strangle vine.but it would'nt hurt my oak tree it has now climbed up the tree across the top edge of my porch and up a tv antenna. i will not let anyone touch it because it's fairly rare. I never know where a grape,muskedine, blackberry,or dewberry is going to appear if i can live with it reasonable i let it alone.I've also been surprised by rattlesnake plantain which is really an orchid. have got 3 plants spread from the first one. These have all been special moments for me.

Okay, so it's been a while since i actually wrote to everyone, and i guess you can say that im doing alright. Since 2006 my life has actually been alright. I'm starting to accept everything as the day passes and i know my family is also doing well. I do not write to my grandmother as much, but i do think about her every day. So, my grandfather had talked to the city about everything that happened that day on Sept 24th 2006. They decided that they needed to do some investigating on the EMS and the Emergancy Room. Yesterday i felt really depressed and lonely even though i have people with me. My boyfriend was with me when i started crying and it was like i couldn't control myself like i usually can, but i think it was because i haven't cried in so long. It felt really good that i can let it all out, and having someone to hold me felt amazing. Talking to my boyfriend about everything really doesn't help as much, because he didn't know the person she was, only my family know exactly how she was. I am very greatful that i got to spend the time that i did with her, and also at the same time i hate myself for missing the times that i needed to spend with her. But like my boyfriend had told me, i cannot blame myself for anything, because i didn't know what was going to happen. I still have the moments where back in the hopital it just plays over and over in my head...and that is something that is never going to go away unless i have some kind of memory loss. You know, there are times i wish things would happen like that to me..only because i feel that it wouldn't hurt me as much. I miss her so freaking much that i wish i could just walk up to heaven and bring her back down again. I don't know, maybe im just being selfish. But, also at the same time, i really don't care. I want her here with me. I just miss the way everything USED to be, how everyone would always be laughing and smiling. Now it's just different. My family is depressed. My family can't talk to anyone anymore about their problems and what to do in certain situations, things have certainly changed. But! We are doing better, it's going to be 2 years since i haven't seen or hear from her, i dont know..it's like im lost for words and i get so thoughtless. OMG, these stories are priceless!!! My co-workers probably think I'm nuts as I sit here alone in my office laughing my behind off! First off, I'm not sure anyone can top KTer Dottie's Bathcapades! Here's my story... Back when I was in my mid 20s I had long flowing hair which I liked to keep off my face. Didn't like ponytails, too old for pigtails and I grew up with headbands of all sorts, needed something new. So I find a cool pair of sunglasses and start wearing them around to do the job. It became somewhat of a trademark for me so I wore them a lot. Many months down the road, perhaps a year or two I notice two disturbing dents on the top of my head. I make an appointment with my GP. He examines them closely, asks all kinds of questions, examines them again and finally tells me he has no idea what it could possibly be. I thanked him for his time, slid my sunglasses back on my head and walked to the door. All of a sudden I hear "uuuh Jodi, could you come back here for a minute?" He takes my glasses off my head, examines them, points to the two nose bridge thingies and didn't have to say anything else. I turned bright red, he was laughing so hard the nurse came in. I turned brighter red and left ... with my sunglasses in my purse. LOL Right now I'm in the creating stages of some potentially dumbest moment. For a year now we hear a beep when we're in the living room. It is not constant and there is no rhyme or reason for it. I've removed everything I can to eliminate possibilities but so far am at a complete loss what it might be. I know my son, being the owner of water vehicles, and a lakehouse he has met all that is required by the law. That' my son. Has all the bases covered.

My goodness, he's gotten big (tall)!

Thanks for sharing this happy time with us. Gosh, he HAS grown! Is he going to be taller than his dad? He has a beautiful, open face and smile. I hope he and his dad will make wonderful memories of just being out on the water together.

That's great, a gift he will enjoy for many years! I like that, not many kids can remember what they got last year. He will remember this Christmas forever!

When our kids quit believing in Santa we would ask them if they wanted regular Christmas or a trip. They are 27 and 32 now and still remember the trips. Now, we are starting that with the little grandsons.

Glenda, love looking at the picture that was made four years ago . Your current pictures show the love you two have for each other, but the one made four years ago is very special also. Those little eyes looking up to his Grandmother. Your family is blest.

One thing I have also noticed Glenda is that about the only time you smile in pictures is when it has to do with your Grandson....I guess that says how much you love him.
