We just parked the RV in the driveway and are unloaded and dead tired so sandwiches is my guess. I have half of a subway sub left from my lunch so that will probably be it for me. He may heat up soup or a sandwich.

Really rainy so after church, I stopped by Burger King for a Whopper and came in for the day.

We were invited to a friend's church Christmas concert. There were brass instruments (the tiniest girl, was playing a huge tuba). The choir was amazing. All upbeat songs. The one had shoulder-length blonde hair and what a voice! When he sang the duet, out front, I noticed his belt buckle was a guitar, so he probably plays in a band.
I got tears in my eyes from so many of the songs ;~

The we all went back to her place and had hot cider flavoured with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and allspice, and homemade cookies, and a great visit. I'm full, but will want something later.

Tonight I'm having a spinach, pear, goat cheese & pistachio salad like last night. I'm also having tomato soup & a rosemary ham & swiss pita sandwich.

I've been trying to get some things done around the house. I've been working a lot of hours lately, plus spending time decorating for Christmas, so the house had gotten in a bit of a mess. I'm tired & I need to finish up this household stuff soon & log in to the office & work for a couple of hours.

It'll definitely be a change for me after three weeks to get back to planning menus & getting lunches together for both of us. I've got to figure out something for dinner tomorrow night. I'm sure DH is tired of restaurant food.

Isn't this the busiest time of year? I've hardly been cooking so haven't answered this question lately.

We're skipping dinner tonight, because we had a Christmas Cookie party today--and served the gang taco soup, nachoes, sweet corn cake, and pumpkin rice pudding. So I'm going to count that as my dinner, if it's okay with you all

Raven, glad you made it home safely. I read an earlier post where you were driving the RV in terrible rain. You will sleep soundly tonight, I'm sure. Still, it was worth the trip for a visit with your family.

Glenda, you're having my mother's favorite thing. She would put the buttermilk in a glass and crumble cornbread in it, or sometimes just plain saltines. It was like dessert for her. Glad you got home safely, too.

Jasdip, I'd love to see that little girl playing the tuba! How cute that must have been. Your whole day sounds like a wonderful one.

Kittiemom, I'm sure whatever you cook tomorrow when your DH comes home will be most welcome. He'll probably be so happy to see you that dinner won't matter all that much! Hope you get caught up on your work stuff. It's that time of year to be overcome with things to do. :-(

Azzalea, yes it is busy--too busy, sometimes. Shoot, after that cookie party, I'd say it counts for dinner at least two nights. Everything sounds delish--especially that pumpkin rice pudding. I'm sure several of us would love it if you posted the recipe on the Weekly Recipe thread. Pretty please?

After someone posted about ham salad, I had to make some today. So I had that on home-made bread slices, cold milk, and a cookie.

Today we held a family Christmas party at the Home where my special needs sister lives. Good food, and good company, and everyone was good with their presents to Annie.

Tonight I just fried up a slice of ham, had a muffin my niece had made, along with a cup of decaf. It was good on an overcast/damp evening. After the huge party lunch, I didn't need anymore tonight.

Busy watching the Steeler game. Just having left over sweet and sour pork.

We were going to run around an get some last minute things this afternoon and end up in our downtown area by the Mission Inn to look at the lights and eat dinner. Rain was predicted and it is cold, so I ran out early and bought the things we wanted to get, DH stayed home and wrapped gifts;)Now he is watching football and I am watching Wolverine (Hugh Jackman, warming me up). SOOO the answer is we will have pizza delivered since it is a 3 hour SURVIVOR tonight;)

Chicken and dumplings again. Seems like we have it nearly every week, but I have a lot of chicken in the freezer and need to use it up, and chicken and dumplings are a favorite. Also had a slice of Marie Callender's banana cream pie.

Have to admit to having just pie and ice cream for dinner. Seems dear daughter was desperate for freezer space for her Christmas baking and passed a frozen red raspberry pie to me last week. She bought from a local church group that was selling pies for a fund raiser. I baked it this afternoon and invited her and a friend over to help eat it. It was excellent..to die for! Well worth the calories...and daughter's and hubby's high blood sugars.

Was busy today making 8 large cookie sheets of pralines. Bobby and Amber were over and Bobby helped Mike close up the pool since our weather has finally turned cold. Then Bobby got out our half tree and ornaments that we will decorate tomorrow.

Dinner tonight was London broil, baked potatoes, green beans and rolls.

We had a late lunch at DH's office party, and a long drive home, so we really just snacked. I had a little leftover chicken salad and crackers. DH had some leftover pasta with ground turkey. Good way to clean out the fridge.
