I just want a copy of Santa's list of the naughty old ladies in my town....LOL

This is the second year I have asked, and think I'll get one this time.

A new toilet seat!

DS didn't really believe my request last year, but the other day he said "do you really want a toilet seat?"

My boss sent me an extremely generous Christmas gift so I decided to get my iPad. Went and got it yesterday, WiFi and Verizon 3G. So I'm now learning what to do with it. So far I love it.

Thank you! it has been a frustrating and expensive battle! My zoysia in the front yard is beautiful and I've never had ant trouble with bermuda, but this fescue fiasco was something I had never dealt with before. Good idea about alternating the fungicides! I will have my chemical company order one of the ones you recommended. After all my research, I ended up seeding with a combination of Rhambler and a new fescue by Lewis Seed (tested as SC-1 but now called LS1000 or something like that.) I have attempted to add a link to show you how beautifully it is this year. I have to agree with Jessy on this, only because of past experience. It's been gnawing at me as I got to know about you and your mother. A personal story - my parents had a cottage in Maine, we went up every summer, I loved it. (My father and grandfather built about a dozen cottages on the lake and sold all but two of them.) I still go to Maine every summer. After I married, my XH and I would go up to the lake (different cottage), and when we had kids, we took them up. My parents were there and we would all do things together, we had wonderful vacations. My kids loved it, especiallly having their grandparents at the lake for swimming and fishing, etc. When my parents got too old to make the drive by themselves, I would drive them up, get them settled, and later come up with my family. At the end of the summer I would bring them home. My sister never went back, she did not like Maine or the cottage - too rustic. Apparently, this bugged my dad. I would talk about how much I loved it up there, and looked forward to having the cottage some day for my family to use. He never really commented about it. Well, when my sister took over the financial management for my parents, she reviewed the will, and found out that my father was leaving the cottage to her, and not to me. He told her that if he gave her the cottage, maybe he could somehow change her mind about coming to Maine. She had a lot of long talks with him, and he finally undestood that his reasoning was wrong, and changed the disposition of the cottage to me. Well.......... then he started worrying about lawsuits (god, I never want to get old!?), and decided to sell the cottage to my cousin, who owns the adjoining property and cottage. He sold the cottage just when I was getting a divorce - I have to say, losing the cottage hurt me more than ending the marriage, I can't afford to replace it, but husbands are a dime a dozen! LOL Your mom my have the same reasoning - my poor son, if I give him money, he'll love me, I can win him back. I've seen this happen to friends - it destroys families.

I'm not sure why a local cabinet shop couldn't make what you want if you get the specs and do scaled drawings to review with them and refine the construction aspects. There's some similar things in the link here, but I didn't check into sizing. I'm not sure why the "concept" would be different for a cabinet maker. It looks like frameless construction, which I'm sure all shops are doing now. The only confusing thing for me is the toilet cabinet. Maybe it's designed to fit over the tank. Dunno. I used to get the magazine "Cottage Living" and loved to see what people did with smaller spaces. I loved the look of the charming and carefully done houses. Our house is not small as in cottage-like, but it is also not a mansion. I think seeing what can be done in a smaller space helps when designing for not so small. Your house is not small, but the look is more of a charming one that an exotic style. If you embrace how nice it is and what it can be, you will have a lovely place to live. When I was younger, I always wanted to be glamorous, but could never pull it off. I looked like the girl next door and wished I could be more grown up looking. Now, many enough years later, I am grateful that I look young(-ish) for my age and had never been at a loss for suitors before getting married, so I wish I could tell the young version of me to be grateful because if one is wishing for something else, they miss what they do have. I still can't wear red lipstick, but am ok with that now that I am wiser, lol. I subscribed to Cottage Living for the decor and appreciated the smaller scale once I started to read it. I also love the aesthetic of what were mostly charming homes and the variety of what could be done while also keeping their appeal. The nicer ones were not mini versions of big houses, but were their own proud more modest size. It was my one foray into house porn, so I can't recommend many others, lol. It is out of print now, but you may be able to see back issues at the library or if someone is getting rid of them such as on freecycle or CL. I finally parted with mine last year or I'd send them along happily. I tried their old website that was up past the magazine going under, but it directed me to another site, which looked cute too. Apartment Therapy may give you some ideas. You will have a larger amount of space to work with, but the feel may not be far off from what would work for you. My kitchen is fairly large now and yet it was done in a modest way for the decor. Its look fits with the overall scale of the house. If we had done fancy, there would have been a disconnect with the rest of the house no matter how much we updated it all. If you have seen a woman who is wafer thin where all the bones in her neck and ribs are protruding, and she is sporting double Es or more, you know what I mean. More is not always better.

Lazy, I'm a naughty old lady AND I live in warm, sunny Florida - come on down, lay on the beach and swim in the beautiful ocean while I beat you about the head and neck with my garden shovel - how does that sound?

Glenda, I've been asking my landlord for a new toilet seat for months - they cost about $40 around here - I'm still asking!

I thought Glenda was asking for the same list as lazypup!!!!

Oh well, only traveled 200 miles today....home tomorrow, Yay!!!

(Of course when that 26 degrees of warmth hits me in the morning..I may not be saying yay!....but it will be Home sweet Home.)

Just a couple of naughty but nice old codgers in my stocking will do just fine! Might bring back the old f--ts sense of humor. It has been a long day!

Glenda,,don't let them lie to you,,you can get a descent toilet seat for half that price..

But while we are discussing toilets..let me share a story..

There was an old couple that lived out in the country and they had an outhouse. One day at breakfast the wife says to hubby,,if you get nothing else done today..fix that damn outhouse.

He went out and looked it over and found a door hinge loose, so he tightened it up, then he found a loosing siding board and nailed that tight.

The next morning she is on him again,,"I told you to fix that damn outhouse!!!"

He went back and looked again. Found one roofing shingle loose so he nailed that tight, then he looked all over but could find no more problems...

The next morning the wife is livid,,,she says,"If you don't fix that outhouse today, I am out of here!!!"

He says. "Wait a minute, I have looked at it three times and I fixed everything I could find that might be a problem, if you can show me the problem, I'll be glad to fix it."

So off to the outhouse they went and she said its inside, so he went in and looked around, but found no problems,,,she says, "Look down there real close at the seat."

He bent down and was looking at the seat, but still could not see any problem, but as he started to raise up his beard cought on a splinter and it yanked his hair,,he hollers "OOOOOOOOUCH"

She says,,,"Hurts don't it,,,now fix that damn thing!!"

Really having a hard time getting into the spirit of Christmas this year. My parents are suffering from alot of serious health issues. Not all of the boys and their families are going to be here for Christmas.... Not sure what's going on. I just know that I'm not "feeling" it this year.

I'm not either, Grannie - I'm not even putting up a tree or wrapping any gifts. If they don't want the present in a bag, I'll just keep it - I only bought 4 actual gifts - one for the neighbor lady and 3 for my Grand Daughter.

Not much spirit here either. If it wasnt for my DD and DSINL and My 2 DGDD coming hom from Michigan I wouldnt have even put up the tree. Just not the same since my parents died That is funny lazypup

Kayjones, you may not be in the mood for Christmas but you sure were funny with Lazypup who needs to be tied up out back. I can't stop coughing and laughing. I bet he dropped his teeth when you said that. Oh, don't stop.

"tv.with bose surround sound He says its for me for Christmas.....FOR ME?????You were so thoughtful..He shouldnt have ..I had a list .tv wasnt on it.
