Marilyn, I loved your Christmas card. It is just so cute and fitting. I just LOL when I opened it.

I agree with you, Oak. I did..do..love the cards that contain a letter with some photos to see like you mentioned. But I have always loved cards, silly cards or pretty cards. And just knowing someone took the time to pick out the card and write a few lines always has meant a lot to me. The cards with the name imprinted on them, and the photo cards seem to say "we're too busy for this". In fact, both my DD and my DDIL do the photo cards because they ARE extremely busy. I do understand that being the case these days. I just don't have to like it. LOL. Like Bleigh said, sometimes its physically hard to sit and do a stack of cards properly. Or at least the way I want to do them, with a short personal note and not just a signature. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even do my cards this year. I'd bought a box of them several weeks ago, and then with the decorating taking 3 wks and now Dad this week, the box just didn't even get opened. I sent a special one to my MIL in FL as we always do, and one to my very best friend in the world in OK. But looks like no one else is even getting a real card from me this year. I feel terrible about that. hugs, Karen I think a lot of folks have stopped sending them, maybe the economy? I've only gotten a few this year myself.

Ug. No. I'm doing mine this weekend, mailing them on Monday. Hopefully Oliver will let me put him down for long enough to get them done or it's going to take a loooooong time! He is a great baby, but wants to be in my arms constantly. I'm getting pretty good at one-handed typing! :) He hates his sling.... loves the Snugli, but only when I'm walking around. My plan is to send them to everyone - I really want to, but we'll see how it goes.

My Christmas Wish 2007 In recent years, my parents health (esp. my mother) has deteriorated. I recently moved 600 miles closer just to be with them. I fear this may be the last Christmas for one or both of them. They really LOVE Christmas cards! As I was rummaging through the attic to retrieve their Christmas decorations, I found Christmas cards they had received from 30 years ago. They throw NONE away. I was trying to think of something really special to do for them for Christmas and I came up with this idea. If you have the Christmas spirit, and want to do something nice for someone (who doesn't?) - please take the time to send my parent's a Christmas card. Christmas was always a magical time of year for our family and I truly want to make this magical for the both of them. Please! God Bless You and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. I buy cards on Zazzle, but making a selection there is a lengthy process. You have to sort through pages and pages of junk to find nice artistic renditions or high quality photographs. Most can be ordered with inside blank or else a customized greeting. I just had to smile to myself over a thought. There a little opossum running around Marilyn's with a pedicure in gold.

I got mine yesterday and opened it while sitting in the parking lot at the hardware store (waiting for DH). You should've seen me smiling when I saw that little possum. The people next to me probably thought I had "gone round the bend". LOL Bettye

I hadn't looked at the return address before opening it, but I knew who had sent it as soon as I saw it! I just had to show it to DH! He was laughing, too.

Also loved Marilyn's possum.....and I grinned when I put up the armadillo ornament she sent last year in the exchange.

Oh, I am so glad you all liked it. When I decided to participate in the swap, I typed in Opossum Christmas card into google and this is the first one that I looked at, and I knew right then that was the one I wanted.

The card was made by Charlotte Terhune. She goes by "Semi-serious Artist." She is a possum lover, of course, a
possum rehabber, and 30% of the proceeds goes to the National Opossum Society. I really enjoyed corresponding back and forth with her.
