Laura, yes you might understand, and I'll be so bold as to attempt an explanation. Certain data is "embedded" in your photos where you can't see it and always stays with the original photo if a digital camera was used. It remains with photos you've manipulated in some way depending on how you save it and depending on the site hosting your photo. I always leave mine in, no particular reason when I post on the web. There is an easy add-on to Firefox to view image exif data, if it is present. Photobucket is being cranky right now, so I can't access it for all of them but some. It was working last night. If you have the add-on, all you do is right click on a photo and choose "view image exif data". Firefox retrieves it from the host server and tells me all sorts of things if it is there. There is also an add-on for IE8. To get it for Safari was more complicated, but there's one for that, too. The main reason I use it is not to snoop but either to try to help people or when I see a photo that I know requires experience and skill, if it is present, I like to know the camera make and model, shutter speed, aperture, focal length, program, metering mode, exposure compensation if used, because it gives me ideas of techniques to try. Even if you don't have the add-on, and even if it doesn't show on the web (most news photos never have it, it gets destroyed for web viewing if you save certain ways), when I open any original photos or photos using "save as" for .jpg of mine in Photoshop, no matter what camera I had at the time, the data is there for me to study and remember what settings I used. It even tells me which lens I used usually but won't tell me that if on the web, just the lens focal length. I bet I made that too complicated, but think it over, and it may start to make sense.

Thanks, Bellsmom! I wish I could do that myself. I have MBR pics, but they're espresso maple in a dark bathroom. They're also a neat combination of cabs. :) And everyone for the compliments! I'm really happy with how they're coming out. It might take me forever to paint or stain, but in the meanwhile everything's going in them instead of boxes piled against the wall. I actually find the skinny, 4-drawer drawers useless. That's why I originally ordered 3-drawer. My plan, someday, is to do what I did with the (extra) cabinets in my MBR. I took out two drawers and one set of drawer glides. I cut out the face frame and put in a single deep drawer. Like the big ones on the 3-drawer. Then, I attached the drawer fronts back onto the big drawer so it looks just like it started. Deeper drawer are much more functional than 2.5" deep drawers. Now I can put stuff actually in them. With 18" cabinets, the drawers can only be 15" deep. Need all the space I can!

Yes, lol, and a maid, LOL! After the Bistro and then Papashon, he returned to being his own boss catering. Half Moon Bay "Red Ginger" (exceptionally beautiful space still available if you're interested) chef was a favorite and last I heard, he is now a private chef for a movie mogul traveling the world. Devils Slide closing Hwy 1 destroyed the perfection they had created, Huge loss for us, I still cry, but hope he's happier than ever. Crab Landing just opened with a two story view of Pillar Point Princeton in the Harbor Village Mall. I don't believe that an open bar is part of the plan at all....and it needn't be. But I do think that it adds a festive touch to have something alcoholic. Orchid, only you and your husband know the "politics" of his workplace. I wouldn't pay much heed to the naysayers. A party like this is an excellent way to meet the spouses of the co-workers...sounds like a great idea to me. Some may live in an environment of 'eye rollers' and treacherous office politics. Most of us don't. After we moved into our new home some years ago, we hosted a holiday party for many of the people who work with Robert (including the boss) , plus our new neighbors, and some very close friends. I was a new comer (we were newly married) to the area and wanted very much to meet people AND welcome people into our new home. It was a rousing success and a great opportunity for these people to truly associate with each other outside of work. It was more of a party than an open house. I'm so glad that we invited people outside the workplace......they added some new blood to the mix. Have a fun time! I hope that we get to see pictures of the decorations when you put them up!
