What's the Correct Site for the Do Not Call Registry

I've been getting lots of telemarketer/spam calls so I guess it's time to re-sign up. I googled it and came up with several sites. Once I started filling one out I wondered if it might simply be a fake site set up to get people's phone numbers and email addresses (required).

Maybe not, but does anyone know the "real" one?

Look in your phone book for a telephone # There are two ( I think) numbers, one is for the state and one for national.

This is a bit of a tangent, but if you'd like to carry over a bit of the garden theme into the wedding--miniature terracotta pots make cute placecard holders. I had fun making these for a friend. Each pot was planted with Irish moss (I got a flat of it) and had a silk flower sprig and a toothpick with a sign that had the guest's name and the table number. Arranged all together, with different colored flowers, they got a lot of attention at the wedding. And everyone got a little souvenir to take home. run ATF the directions are on the same page ATF-Cleaner it can be run on any version of windows, it does not mention 7 but it has been run on many 7 systems both 32 and 64 bit. the other thing I would try is to disable all add ons on your IE9 and try that way. How to manage add-ons in Internet Explorer 9 If that does not work then trying the latest version of firefox or chrome might work I have had no problems going anywhere on that site with any browser.

You put a piece of paper towel on top of the flour otherwise the vacuum would suck up the flour. It's really going to be a boon for hurricane season here since I can buy ahead if we get a bad storm. We have a massive generator so I don't have to worry about being without power for 3 months like during the last one. I don't have the canisters but think I'll get some of those to vacuum seal things too which will cut down on having to rely completely on bags. You might be able to get better prices at places like Costco which we don't have here but ebay is a good source too. I'll have to check to see if they sell the canisters there.

The multiple gift problem is not just due to people forgetting to have items scanned. I made an online purchase of something that was listed as available, only to check a few hours later and see that there were now two purchases of this item listed. The problem is that they don't update their computer system regularly. If they can't install a better system, then they really should have a more flexible return policy. Especially when you consider that people who use their registry are bringing a significant amount of business to Target. This is the first time I've experienced this, but I have heard lots of horror stories. Other registries I've used are a real pleasure to deal with. Don't waste your time with Target. In this economy they say that customer service is becoming more important for businesses--let's hope that Target will decide to listen to this.

Is it necessary to re-sign up? I just figured that so few are being prosecuted for violating the law that they go ahead and make the (mostly) robocalls anyway.

Here is the site for Canada. I had to call them recently and it does seem to have worked. I also renewed my listing as it was about to run out in 2013.

Sjerin, from what I understand, once you sign up, it's only good for 5 years and you need to sign up again. I didn't get many for a long time, but now they've started in full-force again.

As far as I'm concerned, signing up is better than not signing up, regardless of whether the violators are prosecuted or not.

I'm signin' back up now!

The US DNC list does NOT expire after 5 years. It used to but that was changed. From Donotcall.gov"Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm"Also note:"The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. I think the Do Not Call registry is a joke. It did seem to help for a while, but it's back to the same old, same old. I only wish I could convince the DH not to pick up the phone if the name is not displayed. He'd rather b!t@h and moan I guess.... Me...I don't answer if I don't recognize the number calling.

Thanks, Cynic. I didn't know that. I think I'll try it agan just in case, though. It's getting crazy. I do not pick up the phone if I don't know the ID, but often they stay on just until my machine picks up, and then I get a call registered and it's a pain.

I get a least one phone call a day from RACHEL at
cardholder services. ARg! She is recorded, but I have
pressed a number to speak to a human. Once I decided to
ask about credit card rates, it didn't really matter as we
pay ours off every month, but I was curious. The woman
asked what our percentage rate is, when I told her, she
HUNG up on ME! Hey, THEY called. sheesh. The other times I
have requested that they put me ON the do NOT call list.
I've done that many times to no avail.
