So I did what was suggested and put the item (a pair of boots) up for a buy it now sale, emailed the interested party and told her that's what I did and went off to take a nap. Woke up, and found someone else had bought the boots!! I did not specify no international bidders, as I thought the first buyer would buy them. So the gal that bought the boots is from Germany, and it will cost almost 50.00 to ship them plus I have to get a customs form.

I am just trying to sell off things I think are too nice for donation, I don't need this hassle. Plus I had the boots up for two auctions with no bids, now two people want them. Go figure.

oooops!

You should have made it a private auction, sent the buyer the auction number and then only the person you wanted it to buy it could. If you didn't want to do that you should have put the no international bidders stipulation on it, but I guess you figured that out now. Getting a customs form is no biggie. The cost of the postage may be the deciding factor.

That happen to me not long ago, and I don't do international. I told her that and gave her a refund. I never heard a thing from her. Just cancel & refund the sale.

Lizalily, thanks for that...I love hearing good stories. We are not sure about radiation/I-131 treatments yet, just that surgery is what is the most likely first step. Yes, the thyroid controls so much of what happens in our bodies that when it's off, everything goes batty... I am looking forward to CALM energy, as you said...not this fluttery anxiety-fueled energy that I've had for a while. And yes, it will be the hard part - to sit on my swing and relax in the garden instead of working on it...that will be the hard part. Sitting and listening. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I appreciate it a lot. More, perhaps, than you'd know. Nanadoll, it's not a hole that bothers me...rather, it's a good location for a new rose. I'm struggling to figure out where all the roses go now, let alone a new one. LOL. FM does indeed sound like a gorgeous, fragrant, perfect-under-window rose, though...so I may just have to figure it out. Tomorrow is another day, as Scarlet O Hara would say...I'll be getting some things done in the garden tomorrow; now that I know I'll be putting Q. Liz in a big tub until I know where her final home will be, I'll hopefully be getting that whole area handled tomorrow...Queen Liz out and replanted, and then both Gruss An Aachens into the ground. To be able to get that done would make me happy indeed...because then that front bed would be mostly complete. BTW, does anyone know when it's a good time to put bands into the ground? I've got two that I want to get into the ground, but they're still sort of small...both, however, have bloomed for me (a Fragrant Plum and St. Cecilia), so they're doing all right so far. But I don't know when I should put them into the ground...what height or age, or whatever. If anyone could give me that info, I'd greatly appreciate it! Best- Herding Cats

HI everyone, Northernflwr emailed me to confirm the box was definitely sent on May 23rd and according to the tracking, Kathy would have received it on May 29th. I'll try not to give away any major spoilers, but to answer a couple of questions... Schoolhouse This movie ends when Bella wakes up after the emergency delivery of Renessmee. Many other events happen in Jacob's life too, but if you want the entire back story you'll have to read the books. LOL They can't describe the tribe's heritage fully in the visual movie. Yes, the books' story line and writing style is juvenile, but then I believe the target audience is teen girls (which can be a force unto themselves, or legends in their own minds, or...something! LOL) Still, the "Fairy Tale", romantic, good vs. evil, "Happily Ever After" is a tried-and-true storyline. Adellabedella The dress is beyond beautiful. I don't want to be spoiler though. Think sophisticated, modest, covered and revealing, lacy, tailored, sleek...just perfect. And not strapless! Jannie Again, I'm trying hard to not post too much of a spoiler. Jacob follows a legend of his tribe. He's in shock when he thinks of himself as some sort of a 'monster, a werewolf.' He's not a werewolf, although he can take a wolf's shape. Yes, the first book especially, can drag on. It's from the mindset of a spoiled 16-year-old, sometimes you have to skim the worst of the teen-angst parts. I about gagged on a sub-plot in one of the books where she "hated to pull the moving-out card." A spoiled brat, who lives with a parent and depends on him for food, clothing, and shelter, decides she doesn't like the rules. She's "all grown up" so, to show Dad, she thinks she'll just move out of his house...and move into other adults' house - the Cullens' - and let them have the honor of supporting her. (She didn't move.) I thought that scene was so typically teenage girl. Donna Loomis My hubby won't go to the theater to see them, but he does sneak peeks when I'm watching the DVDs at home. I asked him to read certain selections in the different books so he would know what I was babbling about. He works as a civilian security police on the base with mostly Air Force folks in their early 20s; he has a hoot with them. He retired after 22 years of active duty so he knows the job inside and out. He handles a lot of the training and is "all business" and a very "stern" and professional. Then, when they get into discussions about current urban musicians, or an obscure jazz artist, or early 18th century political history, or Harry Potter, or Twilight he can chime right in. It blows their minds.

Funny! When I first started selling on ebay I made the a similar mistake. A gentleman from Poland won an auction for a piece of software (old and outdated) I was selling. The software cost was $6. I checked with the postal service and saw that it would cost just over $50 to ship. I emailed the guy and told him this and he was absolutely fine with it. I just shook my head and mailed him the software after it was paid for. And he left me positive feedback.

I agree with Joann. Just cancel and refund. Then do the private auction.

It doesn't appear I can cancel the sale, from what I've read on ebay. Does anyone know how to do this? I have searched the forum question and answers and I can't find where I can do this once the sale is complete, even for people who clearly stated they don't ship international and someone from overseas bought the item. Help!!

I think its in the drop down menu under "Options" where it has contact buyer, leave feedback. relist & cancel sale. Just keep looking its in there somewhere. You may have to do a refund first. Hope that helps.

You sure the customer isn't willing to pay the shipping? Did you specify in the ad that the buyer pays shipping? I will ship anywhere in the world, but I always specify shipping costs will be added at the end of auction. The customs form is a 2 minute thing to fill out, so I don't have a problem with that either. Don't know why people hate filling that out.

Debby, she wants me to ship the boots to an unverified address in LA, and they would get them to her in Germany. I tried to cancel the transaction and she refused. This just doesn't seem kosher to me, so after spending about 45 minutes on the phone with ebay I got my final value fee refunded and informed her I couldn't ship to an unverified address. Now I'll probably get my first negative feedback, boohoo. What a frickin' mess!!

You can always justify her "potential" negative feedback with a reply just under her comment so readers can see how you handled it. I see people do that all the time and based on what your justification says, many may disregard it. Good luck.

If paypal got problems with somehow inconventional transactions, why not do it the old fashioned way?
Send me Your accountnumber including all information for international transfer like IBAN and BIC, I'll transfer the money and You send the boots to LA.

Yeah,I think it sounds a little "scammy"! LOL I wouldn't worry about a negative feedback in this case.Sounds like you got it settled to your satisfaction.Forget it and go on your merry way!
I WOULD send it on to E-Bay.

I'm curious. Does the buyer have any feedback of her own?

Can't 'verified' addresses be added to Paypal? I know I have paid for things via Paypal and then had them shipped directly to another addy that I had listed with Paypal.

Yes she would have to include the alternate address into Paypal but I don't know if you could put in an out of her country address. That is a question to ask at the answer center - miscellaneous forum on ebay. Many who answer questions there are experts.

You got that it's a scam from that one email? To me it looks like someone who wants to put money directly into your account via a wire transfer. I give my account number out all the time and if someone manages to take what little money out of it, then the bank isn't doing their job.

I hear Germany can be quite pricey, so even with the shipping she's probably getting a bargain. And how she gets her things shipped to LA, I get mine shipped to NY (I'm out of country).

And I have an unverified address with PayPal and it's never stopped the seller from sending me the items, even when they state it. Guess I've been lucky with the sellers, which I'll treasure from now on.

Hope the original buyer still wants them. Good luck.

Screams scam very loudly to me...I was worried about it when you first posted this dilemma and didn't have any replies yet. There won't be any feedback on a non transaction. Does the buyer have any feedback????

Contact E-Bay. I don't think they like it too much when a buyer wants to change the payment options. I had a man from Japan buy a toy from me and no problem with Paypal from him. There's just something that sounds a little fishy with what they are asking. Why not wire the money and ship to Germany? I would definitely wait until the money is in your hands before I would ship those boots anywhere.
