Sorry, but I don't think nude photos of himself are going to help her with support issues.
Also, if he had a nude photo of himself with someone, that might be something to get all fired up about. A nude photo of himself at the cabin not so much..Sick? Your personal choice. Lots and lots of people do that.
Not sure of your state, but a majority don't even have grounds, just merely irreconcilable differences. There is no alimony, and she will just get child support. I think part of his salary is out, and she may get a portion of his retirement.

I can't see nudity being a factor in whether alimony or child support is awarded by the court. Maybe the attorney is considering bribery? Not a good idea. The law either entitles her to support or it doesn't. She may be entitled to child support for kids in college depending on their age and what state she is in. Alimony has a whole host of factors.

He may have done this just to upset her!

I don't know how they could be used in court,other than as others mentioned,bribery.And even that wouldn't hold up I don't think.I don't think it's against the law to take nude pictures of ones self.Nothing "sick" about that.Maybe a little weird but to each his own.LOL Now if they were suggestive or lewd and sent to the wife(or anyone else) I could see them being possible evidence that the man has a problem.

A military high-ranking official was recently sentenced for murder and 82 break and enters. He took photos of himself dressed in the women's underwear that he stole when he broke and entered. They are all over the internet and newspapers.

For years he was breaking into houses and stealing womens clothing. After he stole the underware he would take a picture of himself in the stolen clothing.
Every picture he took he cataloged them even when he killed
the two women he had his camera running. Thank God they got him before he did anymore. He was sentenced to two life sentences.
Please be careful. you never really know a person who takes pictures of himself naked.

I don't think a person taking pictures of themselves naked is sick.

The way I read the story, I can think of two possibilities; first, he had simply forgotten that the pictures were on the camera when he loaned it to her, in which case it is none of her business.

Second, he knew the pictures were on there and wanted to "get her goat", in which case it is her business. If this is the case, I think what he really wants to achieve is negative attention from your friend. So, IMHO, I think I'd advise her to pretend she did not see them, return the camera to him, thank him for allowing her to borrow it and promise herself to never borrow his camera again.

Like other posters, I don't see how this could possibly help her get the support she needs in a divorce settlement.

What he does in his cabin, so long as it doesn't inconvenience others, is his business.

If he wants to take pictures of it, that's his business, also.

It's his camera ... she asked to borrow it, and he allowed her to.

If there were evidence of something illegal on there, then she'd have something of a dilemma ... as it is, I'm wondering what all of the fuss is about.

As far as I'm concerned, drawing any parallels between this and the Canadian military officer who broke into houses and stole stuff, mainly women's clothing, then dressed up in them, and held women prisoner and killed them is improper - there's no comparison possible, in my view.

His unhelpful actions in the family otherwise and what non-helpful actions that he's been taking with regard to helping his kids get ahead, an education, etc. has nothing to do with this, as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I guess I've just learned something. Lots and lots of people take nude pictures of themselves??? Really? Why, for goodness sake? Ewwwwwww. And yes, I think it's weird. Sane people actually would set the timer on their camera and set their nude selves down for a photo opp? Several times? Sorry - I'm hardly a prude, but that just brings up a bad visual and a psychological question.

I wish I could tell you how many spouses in the military have nude photos of their spouses/partners.
Nothing psychologically disturbing about it. It would be more disturbing if they just turned off all sexual thoughts for a few years.

Sounds fishy. But not likely to influence the outcome of the divorce. Alimony and child support are all about finances and need, not the person's hobbies, peccadilloes, etc. He's a nudist, who cares?

I thought exactly the same as Country Bumpkin. Why in the world would she ask to borrow his camera if things were so ugly between them? That to me is more odd and questionable, actually, than the photos.

SAD.........Yes Divorce is sad in most instances, especially after so many years. A divorce is better than living in fear or being abused any longer.

WEIRD 1......I'm not sure what an attorney would mean by "ammunition for support". A good attorney knows Alimony/ is determined by how much one spouse supported the other during the marriage and if there is a hindrance to the spouse who is seeking support from working and supporting self at the same level of lifestyle. Child support is determined by who has primary custody and how old the children are. Any children over 18 are not eligible unless there is some previous agreement such as continuing education and housing costs for students. Both Alimony and child support amounts are totally up to the judge how much and how it is paid. Trying to use as ammo or blackmail with, deleted pictures???? Sounds like the attorney is not an ethical person.
WEIRD 2.........Yeah a little. I'm surprised she asked to borrow his camera. While going though with what appears to be an ugly divorce, then borrow a camera like he is a good friend. Obviously it only takes a few minutes to download pics from a digi cam to a computer so why the immediate need to borrow another camera?
