Wanted egg rolls and eggdrop soup, but restaurant was so busy.

OPTED for a smoked turkey on multi grain bread. Ok

I ate at the basketball game which was right after church. Walking taco, diet coke and later an ice cream. Food costs a fortune at the stadium but we were all very hungry.

The chairs are entirely different story. I bought them off some antique dealers site on ebay from New York. Got all them for like $125 but it cost me a total of almost $600 by the time shipping factored in. Still a deal in "chair world". They had some hideous old gold brocade fabric on them. I refinished and recoverd them myself. They are two arm chairs too. DH was so worried that they wouldn't go with the table. "How can you know" he asked? And I told him... " I just know they'll be perfect... trust me". When they delivered them it was funny. they came at night when my husband 60's style band was practicing at night at my home. These boys have been together for over 40 years... since they were kids. Anyways, the delivery man was a Jamaican man who was not familiar with the music. So I told him to stay and have some dinner. (Had made baked ziti for the boys). "what's baked ziti" he asked. Well I sat that young man down to a big plate with home made bread.He devoured it and kept asking... "this is called baked ziti"... "seconds please"... He got up and sang some wiht the guys and was dancing. I gave a big fat tip and he left a happy kid. DH will no longer question me on my choices at all. He'll say, I never would have picked those colors/whatever... but it looks tremendous.

I agree with gazania. It looks like a white crowned sparrow. We get them in southern California in late winter & spring. I think they are funny because they are a ground bird & scratch the dirt like chickens. I've not seen one look so puffy - it might be a fledgling. Sure cute. Good picture, vetaal.

I just made Broccoli Cornbread and that with some leftover chicken and green beans will be my din din.

I had planned to make a Chicken Curry but DH was out with the boys after hockey this morning and isn't so hungry so we're just having toasted tomatoe sandwiches on Rye with a bowl of soup.

DH went to Papa Murphys and got us pizza. Those things are huge! Had one piece for lunch, and will have another for dinner. Clean kitchen!

I made beef stew and cornbread; took a bowl to my neighbor who is recovering from surgery. Really warms up the house.

We had our dinner after church, there. So good. On my plate was the following, chicken and noodles, with mashed potatoes, meat loaf, green beans, sweet potato casserole,spinach salad, cole slaw and a deviled egg. Plus a good glass of unsweet tea. It was all so good. I did not hit the dessert table! There were a lot of other things like turkey, pork and vegetables, corn, dressing, and I just don't know what all. There is always a lot of food for a small church. Everyone enjoys it. We fixed a plate to bring home to my husband and also one for Amber's husband. For supper I ate some leftover chili soup. I also ate some peaches.

I browned a pound of ground venison with onions. Chopped up and steamed a small head of cabbage. steamed a cup of rice. put it all in the crockpot with 3 small cans of tomato soup and a can of diced tomatoes. Something was missing so I sprinkled my bowl with a little parmesan cheese. It was good (and healthy too).

Not happy with mine at all. Made Tamale Pie in the crockpot and somehow added WAY too much salt. I rarely add salt to my recipes and I must have done it twice this time. It tastes ok, but nothing like the Tamale Pie I used to make. I can not get the tamales that I love here. One of the few things I miss from California.

I spent all afternoon making caramels and baking cut out cookies and frosting them. I made bacon cheeseburgers and tator tots and creamed corn.
