Okay, I'll post this one again. I wonder if GardenWeb will regurgitate all the messages it swallowed up?

Buffalo statue near the pier at Avalon on Catalina Island which is off the coast of Southern California. Herds of Buffalo roam free on the island. Many years ago my best friend and I hiked the interior of the island. A large herd of Buffalo blocked our way to the camp site where we had registered to spend the night. We ended up getting terribly lost and a search party was sent out very late that night when rangers discovered we hadn't checked into the camp. We were found a little after midnight quite some distance from the camp. Because much of the island was on alert, a lot of people at the campsite were still up. When the ranger dropped us off at the camp there was a loud cheer and several people came up to us to see if we needed food or water. It was such an embarrassing situation. The next afternoon the same ranger saw us on the road back to Avalon. He got out of his truck and asked us to come take a look at something he had made for us that morning. It was a freshly painted 7ft sign with Black Jack Camp written on it. The ranger said he figured out why we got lost. The herd of buffalo were much taller at the shoulders than the tiny sign they had posted for Black Jack Camp. He dedicated it on the back to us. :-) Jodi-

How sweet! DH had his 75th birthday on Friday, a bunch of us went to the 50's Diner for lunch, our older son came up from Kentucky and walked into the diner just as we were ordering, perfect timing! That's DH and I on the right, the boys aren't in the picture.

Alisande, what a treasure you have in those old negatives. There are hundreds of old pics and negatives in my Moms old house, but for reasons to long to go into, it is unlikely that I will ever see them again. Wanda! So very nice to see you...and that lovely Oriel Jodi, so sorry that you lost your Mom when you...and she were so young. My Dad was a year older when I lost him. My biggest regret is that my children didn't get to know him. I dearly want to take the master gardeners classes, but here they are only given in the dead of winter. I can't take chances on falling, so I have never done it. My pic today shows 4 of the 30 or so of Peter Toths "Trail of the Whispering Giants" that he alone carved from local trees in every state ( some states got more than 1) in the 70's through the 90's. When DH and I traveled by motorcycle over the years, we made it a point to find each state's "Whispering Giant", Peter's tribute to the American Indian. Below are Williamsport, PA and a very early one, now at the Western Welcome Center on PA I 80 and bottom two, Narragansette R.I. and Cherokee N.C.

All very nice photos today! As usual!

Looking into Idaho from Dominion Peak in the Lolo National Forest in Montana...at 6032 feet above sea level. This literally took my breath away and gave me goosebumps. I don't think you can get much closer to heaven.

Ron, thanks for my back ground picture for today. :)

Everyone, the pictures I can see right now are AWESOME as always, and I hope, when I come back later I can see the ones that wouldn't open.

Really, what I hope is, that the KT doesn't swallow today's posts.

Susan, you still have a cute little face.

Dave always has his "critters" pose. He won't tell me how he gets them to do that. He must be a "critter whisperer".

Thank you, Moni. What a compliment.
That picture is a favorite of mine, too. It was taken in the Italian Alps while my daughter and SIL were living there.
