My baby got a haircut...

And he doesnt look like my baby anymore. He absolutely HATED his haircut and was hysterical. I dont know how she cut it with how much he was moving around. Poor little guy, but he needed that haircut really bad.

Korina, LOL, you are so funny! ;) I would never sucker, anyone! and I wouldn't want anyone to try to clone me either! We all have all of these plants, and always wonder where the hell we can put them. You have extra babies and so do I. Generally, I like to grow my babies til first bloom, to see if any mutate, I especially hope for chimera's. But this year, I just have too many! I would like to try Wea Dear, Sunrise Waltz, and any plant with girl leaves. I thought you might like some of mine. I counted them, I have 84 babies and that's not including what's still in the leaf trays. I generally wait for first bloom, and then I visit the florists and garden centers in my area and sell them off for $1 each in bloom. This year I have too many, because I panicked when rob's plants all went into shock! and I have too many babies now. I can give some away, and will sell the others, don't worry, I don't mulch anything that's living. I just thought you'd like to trade. Blueberry Sprite is a new (2005) plant available from lyndonlyon.com, you can look it up there. It is a semi-mini with single purple/blue flowers edged in white. It is a robust, easy to grow plant and I really hope they register it, so that we can show it if we want. The mouse ears arrive dime size! The thing about it that I really love is how red the bloom stalks are! I feel the same way about Lemon Sundrop. I forgot to mention, I also have extra "Candy Crystals" Russell

Got my first baby rubber plant! Can I split it, to get two plants

Your plant is a Peperomia obtusifolia, aka 'Baby Rubber Plant'. But that name is a bit unhelpful as 'Rubber Plant' usually denotes Ficus elastica and until I saw the picture I thought you had a baby one of those ;-). They are very easy to propagate just by cutting pieces off at a node and inserting in growing medium, or even a glass of water. Thanks Vagas and Tclynx. I had the cocoons in a plastic bag w/o air or food. Just worm doo and cocoons which aren't that recognizable to me yet. I could not imagine leaving them in the plastic bag vagas, so I prepared a bed of peat moss/a couple cups of cornmeal/ and a couple cups of wellllll rotted bagged cow manure that has been laying out in the weather for about 3 years/and a few handfuls of small shredded paper to break up all that dirt looking stuff. Well Mixed and damp. I poured the plastic bag of worm cocoons out onto this mixture in the bin and covered it with a layer of dry shredded paper. I did put some drain holes in the bottom, and I did put another container w/o holes under that to capture any liquid excess or baby worms that might fall through and of course the brick to keep the upper plastic container from falling down below the air holes. And I did put a soaked piece of cardboard box down in my bin to cover the holes for the babies to lay on,first thing. I did that about 3 days ago with the cocoons and I don't see any babies yet, but since I am still afraid I will damage them if I put my hands down in the mixture to look, that doesn't mean they aren't there, I'm sure. In the meantime, I am down to opening and looking at the worms only about 3 times a day and that IS a struggle for me. I put the 3 containers together like Vaga said. The worms are awfully skinny and aren't moving too fast just yet. It has been only about a week and a half since I put them(1000) in there and NOW I can see that they are eating the bedding up and pretty quickly. So, Friday, I set the second prepared container that makes the tiered bin on top of that W/Oa brick (The worms around outside are all laying under heavy stuff so I figured the small weight of the container could be helpful) and I put about 1/2 lb or less of kitchen scraps and coffee grounds and of course shredded paper in it in case they wanted more to eat. They really are skinny. I have never seen such skinny little worms. I am sure they must grow (red wigglers)bigger. Anyway, Today when I looked at them, I DID find that they are migrating up into the food...or at least about 20 of them have so far. Out of fear that they would attempt to escape and inadvertantly commit suicide, I placed the whole 3 layer bin in a large black garbage bag leaving it open and loose in case they try to explore outside the box while I am gone. That way, I won't find them dried up on the floor or step on them. Once I saw that they weren't trying to get away, I took the bin out of the bag. Not one fatality due to escape...not one worm in the bag either. =o) So, I am learning not to sit and prowl through their bedding to see what they are doing.....all the time. Just nervous about them I guess. Trial and error is the way of life, I suppose. I will either get more worms, or they will not do well for me. Thanks so much for your input. Thank God I've never had a bad haircut.. They say a good haircut is when YOU notice the cut but noone else does. I think that's true. I've had many cuts that I've loved yet others have just noticed a 'trim'. Years ago, I used to go to a hair salon that was run by a guy that played in a popular band in the Miami area. He also was a stylist and was very good. I arrive one morning for my haircut and he sits me in the chair and whispers in my ear that I should leave. I looked at him in the mirror and he winks my way and tells me he'd had a 'gig' the night before, had drunk too much and done drugs and was still not totally with it. Told me that he was afraid to hurt me! I felt horrible but grateful that he was honest enough with me. Did I ever go back?? Heck yeah! Great hairdressers are hard to find. I just learned to check him out real good first before I sat in that chair!

Handsome little man! Course he always has been, the haircut just makes him look a little more grown up. Oh gosh poor little boy didn't know what they were going to do to him! It looks like he was sure having fun AFTERWARDS though! Next time will be better Stephanie.

I cryed when my Son got his first haircut. He went straight from my curley haired baby boy to looking like a big boy.

I still have his little curls in his baby book.

Looks like He is already shopping for hair products. How cute!

Yup, one more milestone. Jayden has had 3 hair cuts now. The last one was terrible. I hope Grant takes to it better than Jayden does.

Gosh, he looks big, and he is just a few months older than my much smaller grandson who will be one on Christmas Day. I am assuming that daddy is quite a big fella.

He's adorable. He looks like a little man now!

I always took a small box of weird stuff the kids hadn't seen before--key chains, clothespins, scotch tape, an old watch, stuff from the junk drawer, etc. It amused them a bit so they would hold still long enough to get the haircut.

sheilajoyce, my DH isn't big at all. He's 5'10" and average size. Not sure of his weight but he's more on the thin side. Grant weighs about 25 lbs but he's fairly tall for his age, about 80%. His weight is about 50% for his age. At a year old, they said he was the height of an average 17 month old.

Everyone always thinks he's much older than he is though.

Poor Grant!

Surprisingly Olivia LOVED her haircuts. (I was ready to apologize in advance). Do you have Cartoon Cuts in Ca? They cater to children and have TV sets, toys etc. to distract the kids. Also, Olivia sits on Daddy's lap during his haircuts, just to get her used to the whole process.

Teresa, we dont have a Cartoon Cuts around here but I did take him to this place that specializes in kids and teens. She had a little car for him to sit in with a tv/dvd and lots of toys. He wasnt interested in ANY of it. Hopefully by the time he needs his next cut, he'll be better about it.

He has stranger anxiety right now, which I'm sure didnt help the matter.

He must've worn himself out because he came home and took a 3 hour nap, which is unheard of for him. I think in his whole life, he's taken maybe 1 or 2 other naps that long.

I remember screaming thru haircuts until I was about 6. They used that stupid razor thing on my hair and I swear it was dull because it used to pull and make my scalp hurt something awful.

Oh my goodness he's so gorgeous! He gets cuter all the time!

Benjamin hates to have his hair cut too. Claude and I do it at home with Claude's clippers, but we wait as long as possible between cuts. He is WAY overdue now. His hair is so shaggy. I guess we'll have to bite the bullet and do it and get him tidied up before the holidays.

Poor kids.

Seems like a very short time ago you wanted a baby so much. Now you still don't have a baby anymore, he is so grown up.
Our Great Grandaughter has had at least three hair cuts and she is two months younger than Grant.

He's such a big boy now.

Nick did fine with his first haircut. It was the next few that he had a fit over but now he loves getting his haircut. Well he loves getting that lollipop!

Gosh, Steph, that sure does bring back memories of my boys and their first haircuts. I think they did better than I did. Once the curls were gone, they looked so much older it made me sad! They sat on their daddy's lap and I took pictures. I'm sure the barber dreads doing first haircuts! It's traumatic for everyone.

Grant is such an adorable little guy with those big brown eyes. Sure does melt hearts!
