Handsome little man! Course he always has been, the haircut just makes him look a little more grown up. Oh gosh poor little boy didn't know what they were going to do to him! It looks like he was sure having fun AFTERWARDS though! Next time will be better Stephanie.

I cryed when my Son got his first haircut. He went straight from my curley haired baby boy to looking like a big boy.

Yup, one more milestone. Jayden has had 3 hair cuts now. The last one was terrible. I hope Grant takes to it better than Jayden does.

Gosh, he looks big, and he is just a few months older than my much smaller grandson who will be one on Christmas Day. I am assuming that daddy is quite a big fella.

I always took a small box of weird stuff the kids hadn't seen before--key chains, clothespins, scotch tape, an old watch, stuff from the junk drawer, etc. It amused them a bit so they would hold still long enough to get the haircut.

sheilajoyce, my DH isn't big at all. He's 5'10" and average size. Not sure of his weight but he's more on the thin side. Grant weighs about 25 lbs but he's fairly tall for his age, about 80%. His weight is about 50% for his age. At a year old, they said he was the height of an average 17 month old.

Everyone always thinks he's much older than he is though.

Surprisingly Olivia LOVED her haircuts. (I was ready to apologize in advance). Do you have Cartoon Cuts in Ca? They cater to children and have TV sets, toys etc. to distract the kids. Also, Olivia sits on Daddy's lap during his haircuts, just to get her used to the whole process.

He's so grown up looking...that first haircut always ages them! LOL...what a cutie patootie!

Teresa, we dont have a Cartoon Cuts around here but I did take him to this place that specializes in kids and teens. She had a little car for him to sit in with a tv/dvd and lots of toys. He wasnt interested in ANY of it. Hopefully by the time he needs his next cut, he'll be better about it.

He has stranger anxiety right now, which I'm sure didnt help the matter.

He must've worn himself out because he came home and took a 3 hour nap, which is unheard of for him. I think in his whole life, he's taken maybe 1 or 2 other naps that long.

He sure looks a lot more mature! Cute as ever, though.

I remember screaming thru haircuts until I was about 6. They used that stupid razor thing on my hair and I swear it was dull because it used to pull and make my scalp hurt something awful.

Benjamin hates to have his hair cut too. Claude and I do it at home with Claude's clippers, but we wait as long as possible between cuts. He is WAY overdue now. His hair is so shaggy. I guess we'll have to bite the bullet and do it and get him tidied up before the holidays.

Seems like a very short time ago you wanted a baby so much. Now you still don't have a baby anymore, he is so grown up.
Our Great Grandaughter has had at least three hair cuts and she is two months younger than Grant.

Nick did fine with his first haircut. It was the next few that he had a fit over but now he loves getting his haircut. Well he loves getting that lollipop!

Gosh, Steph, that sure does bring back memories of my boys and their first haircuts. I think they did better than I did. Once the curls were gone, they looked so much older it made me sad! They sat on their daddy's lap and I took pictures. I'm sure the barber dreads doing first haircuts! It's traumatic for everyone.

Grant is such an adorable little guy with those big brown eyes. Sure does melt hearts!
