I finally figured out how to play the Susan Boyle special that aired on Sunday. I thought it was great! It dispelled one thing I had heard and that was that when she sang on American's Got Talent they had taped her performance the night before. When they show clips of it on the special you can clearly see the huge audience.

There is a perticularly touching moment towards the end but I won't spoil it for you but I broke down and cried!

One annoyance was that they play the same 30 commercial about every 10 minutes or so. Otherwise I'm just glad I got to see it!

I can't get the sound. Is there something I need to do? I have my volumn turned up as high as it will go, but no sound at all.

Hi all,Good Morning! I see that a lot of you haven't received your books yet, is no problem to wait, lets give it the rest of the week for everyones books to arrive. After all the first lesson involves the book LOL. So everyone who signed up, once you all get your books, pop in on this post and let me know when you get your book then hopefully we will start on Friday or Saturday of this coming week. I don't watch the news. It makes me too stressed. According to a crime specialist (link below), if we are bombarded with fearful messages, we can't pick out the REAL dangers. He says our instinct of fear is our "gift," and so when we become paranoid, we lose the gift. He's written books for adults and one for parents/caregivers. I think he's been on Oprah, so you may have seen him there, too. However, I still see the news online all the time! I need to use something other than Yahoo as my homepage! Olliesmom, I know what you mean. I have had thoughts like that-- just worrisome thoughts about predators and such. Didn't help when I found out someone on our block was just arrested for child porn. YIKES. But, every time I get those thoughts in, I tell myself that I won't let that horribleness "live" in my house. By worrying/thinking/stressing we just invite it right in, if that makes sense. Do not let those people have power over you and ruin your special fun with your son! It is not easy for me-- it seems there is one awful story after another. Cynic, there is a off button on the TV. Just push it and poof--all your problems are solved. So I can't find out what's going on in the world? I see. I realize it upsets a lot of people but I simply don't think the sun rises and sets on this or any one person. Enough is enough was all I was saying. There's other things going on to fill the airwaves. And, holding back laughter, no I'm not "torturing" myself by coming to the forums, or reading the papers or watching TV. But even here, this is what, about the 5th thread at least devoted to her? I made a simple comment that I hope it's over. And not surprisingly when one disagrees with the premise, then all of a sudden you're "bashing", "low", "harsh" or told to leave, etc. But I'm not as thin-skinned as many, I can take the comments and disagreement. It doesn't torture me. I note nobody has mentioned Ms. Boyle's breakdown yet. With the way she's been, I'm certainly not surprised. I suppose I'm to blame for her being in the, shall I say facility to not tread on toes? I'm sure I know some of the comments to be forthcoming.

Sue, did you check the volume on the website? There is a volume control in the lower right hand corner of the video window.

She is just such a sweet, innocent sort of person. It really got to me when they gave her her platinum record. So sweet.

I'm glad you got that to work on your end BB it is the same one I tried to link that was aired on UK tv on Sat night but my link wouldn't play for USA and yours won't play for me here in UK

I was just watching it and it stopped and said this content is not authorized for that domain??? What is that? I got about 1 mintues into it and now can't finishe it..anyone else getting that? I'd love to finish it!!

I loved it!! I got to watch the whole thing and was so happy for her when she was presented the platinum record.

Thank you for posting this I really like Susan and am glad for all the good things that have and are happening for her.

BB, I had the volume control on the video up as high as it would go, and on my computer also. I'm going to try again later.

I had seen it on TV on the TV GUIDE channel, but wanted to see it again.

Try it again, Gwanny. Also, do you have a firewall or virus software that could be blocking the site?

I would try it again, Sue. I'm not sure what else you can try, hopefully it will go for you next time. We weren't able to get it out in the sticks! We have no cable or satellite, just broadcast TV, which is okay with us! It is rare when something is on that we really are intereted in!
