2 questions about yeast....

Hi everyone. I wonder if the cooking experts could comment on these two questions I have about yeast.

1. I have packages of yeast (not the quick rise, regular) that expired at the end of October. Do you think it will still be good to use and will still rise?

2. Can this type of everyday yeast be used in a bread machine or do I have to have specific yeast that is stated for that machine?
