It got down to 29 degrees here early this morning.

Speaking of birds...there were a couple of birds in Wal-mart seeking warmth yesterday.

I also, found one overnighting in my garage this morning, but when I opened the door he flew out.

Texas Birds aren't accustomed to these low temps. The back of my Fireplace is on the wall of the garage, so my garage stays a little warmer.

We use a plug in heated dog bowl for the birds. They flock right to it. Just have to put fresh water in every couple days.

Gotta remember the birds!
You can purchase electical heater rods to place in your bird baths. Here in southern Ontario, when it's at it's coldest, there is always a hole in the ice for them to get a drink.
We just plug it in and forget about it because it has auto shut-off when temps go above freezing.

I have a heated bird bath, and it's plugged in from Halloween until it stays warm enough not to need it. It's clamped onto my deck. In the summer I put just the plain bird bath in it. Birds need the water as much as food in the winter.

I have one of the small "stock tank" heaters in my bird bath. It works really well. Bought it at the Farm store here in town.

I really wish I had my camera with me yesterday. DH and I were out shopping and on our way home I looked up to see over a dozen fat birds sitting on high-lines (telephone wires) I told DH our birds obviously don't know trees are warmer than open windy high-lines lol. The birds looked really really cold all clumped up together on that little old wire ;0)

I have a heated birdbath, but the dogs knocked it over recently and I haven't been out to turn it upright yet.
Note to Linda...get out there and get it done...STAT!!!!!
