For you Peeps peeps, one of the things that the Washington Post has done for several years now is a Peeps diorama contest. Very funny (tho some people had too much time on their hands). Last year's winner was "Rest in Peeps," mourning the loss of Twinkies after Hostess declared bankruptcy and sold (but Hostess products are back, so maybe the creators of that diorama will have a "Living Dead" piece now!). Winners' diorama photos will be up on the Post website April 20 (if you do a Google search now, you can see past winners).

My preference is DARK. DH's is Butterfingers! I know that because when we were in Belgium I was excited about these small chocolate outlets are a popular draw for tourists. In Belgium much like wineries, tours of Belgian chocolate shops include tastings and exclusive souvenirs. Anyway, I was overwhelmed trying to make decisions and assumed by the puzzled look on his face that DH was too. I finally made some selections, he didn't. He finally said "they don't have Butterfingers". I was emnbarrased and told him to keep his voice down--crazy American!

The bigger issue with all of these tainted products is what is not being said or revealed. There is no way to know if the item you just bought that says "product of the usa" or "made in canada" contains by products that were manufactured in China. As food agencies don't force companies to list where their ingredients come from, any food product we consume could have a risk attached to it. It's smart to not buy any food products produced in China. There are also some problems with food coming from Indonesia at the moment. It would be a lot closer to a solution if companies were forced to list where those products that make up the finished product come from. Suzan J

I look forward to a report. Meanwhile -- I have to make a trip to Whole Foods to try the La Fermiere. I'm such a sucker for the little blue pots -- at least the first half dozen to a dozen or so. LOL For many years, I had the working glasses because they looked like the jelly jars. Other than Welch's grape jelly for the kids PB&J years ago, I don't buy much jam, but when I do, that is one I look for.
