Well, I guess this proves the iPhone advertisement that many, many photos today are taken with phones rather than cameras! In any case --- sideways for me too, but if I click on the photo, a new screen comes up showing it in correct position. Molie

Thanks for the links Zep. I did check those and that's where they talk about tags which Windows doesn't read. The recommendation is to use Picassa which I don't know how to use to post photos here. Snidely, I have tried that many times. It doesn't work. It seems the way the picture comes into the computer is 'willy-nilly.' Sometimes its correct, other times its sideways or upside-down. Even when I correct using MS Photo Editor, it doesn't correct the problem. The photo looks right on Photo Editior, but when I bring it into GW, it rotates again. Very weird, I've never had this happen before. I'll have to learn Picassa. Jane

Thank you all for the responses. I did wait about 8 minutes even though the recipe says 5, so that was the problem. I know because I made it again (just had to see if I could do it! I will freeze a lot of it)(found a different recipe, but for the same size pan) and turned it out the instant it came out the oven. It came out perfectly! I have made it in a cast iron skillet when I was teenager at my grandmothers house... I don't own one, but maybe it's time to consider buying one! The ugly one tasted OK, but it was dry... I just pour milk over it when I want a piece. Gldno1, I also tried to stop baking (and stop attending this forum) in an effort to lose weight. I was still just as fat, just got sad on top of it. I'd rather be plump and happy than skinny and miserable! I enjoy baking (and this forum) and cannot stop!

The uside down tree is actually a very old idea... The Upside Down Christmas Tree  It was a common tradition in Victorian times to display a "table top" tree in the parlor. Often the trees were too big for the table so the top would be cut off and hung upside down in another part of the house. This afforded the opportunity to have another tree to display the many handmade treasures collected over the years. Look for the upside down tree in the entry to Berry Manor Inn. In the 7th century, a monk from Crediton, Devonshire, went to Germany to teach the Word of God. He did many good works there, and spent much time in Thuringia, an area which was to become the cradle of the Christmas decoration industry. Legend has it that he used the triangular shape of the Fir tree to describe the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The converted people began to revere the Fir tree as God's Tree, as they had previously revered the Oak. By the 12th century in Central Europe, the Fir tree was being hung upside-down, from ceilings at Christmas time as a symbol of Christianity. The first decorated Christmas tree was at Riga in Latvia, in 1510. In the early 16th century, Martin Luther is said to have decorated a small Christmas Tree with candles, to show his children how the stars twinkled through the dark night.
