All the neighbors family had a laugh on me .

At Christmas dinner...with everyone there. The DIL asked me where I got my highlights done because they look so nice and they did a very good job.She loves the color of them,not brassy at all. Ummmmmm...I don't have highlights and I also don't color my hair at all.LOL! It's all natural.I LOVE the way I'm graying,I have a large silver streak in my bangs and other silver streaks all over.It sparkles in the sun.Last time I got my hair cut,the lady there told me "People pay to get what you have naturally" LOL! I'm ok with going gray,my Mom has a natural head full of beautiful pure white hair,hope I do that.Now my sister,she hates gray and colors hers.I did try coloring it a few times but seems like after a couple days the color comes out of my silver streaks and they are right back.So if they want there that bad,they can stay!

I too have that coloring. My Mom had beautiful darkish auburn hair until she got real sick and could not take care of it. I have dark blond with the grey-silver streaks and out in the sun shows the redish highlight. Sometimes it is the shampoo that makes the difference. My grandma had beautiful white hair. She used lemon juice and bluing. If I use the wrong color, it turns orange, and that is not a pretty sight.

That's a cute story! They are very inquisitive. One day a couple weeks ago I had on a red tank top and was standing at my kitchen sink, where I can see the feeder on the back porch straight ahead out the window. One of the hummingbirds flew right up to the window, looking at me as if they wanted to get to my shirt LOL Yesterday I was in the garden with hubby, and we were crouched down looking for monarch caterpillars on the swamp milkweed, when all of a sudden two hummingbirds zoomed right into the middle of the milkweed plant right in our faces, and stayed for about 15 seconds as if they wanted to see what we were doing! LOL but they were pretty much chasing each other after that.

we had 8 inches of snow on the second day of spring last year i didnt even realize we had a spring last year. we went from winter to about a week of summer then right to fall. im hoping for a better spring, alot of trees didnt even flower last year.

We used to have a tv in the kitchen, and it sat in an alcove at the end of the room. My mother would not let us watch during dinner though, because her seat was right in front of the TV and she didn't like us staring "through" her LOL! Glad it was the cartoons, and not something more nefarious! Dances.

I like jury duty too...sometimes you get a case that is really interesting. My most memorable case was a woman who was charged with Driving Under the Influence & Vehicular homicide. This was back in the days before cell phones so when the accident occured the lady ran into a nearby bar to use a phone to call the police, Realizing that there was nothing that she could do until the police arrived she waited by sitting at the bar and hooking down a half dozen drinks. During the trial the police officer testified that she had hit and killed a man riding a bicycle, and both a field sobriety check and a breathalizer confirmed that she was drunk. The defense contended that she had been sober when she hit man, and that the man had rode out onto the street in front of her from a driveway, and it was impossible for her to stop before hitting him. They also alledged that she was drunk when the officer performed his tests but she was sober when the accident occurred and got drunk sitting in the bar waiting for the cops to arrive. Our5 jury deliberated for over two hours and finally we came to the conclusion that we could not be sure beyond a reasonable doubt so we had no choice but to vote "Not Guilty" We re-entered the court, passed a written copy of the verdict to the judge and the judge passed it back to the jury forman. Just as the forman was about to read the verdict the defense attorney stood up and says,,,"if it please the court, your honor". The Judge turned to him and asked what he wanted? He says, "My client informs me that she would like to change her plea to guilty and ask for the mercy of the court". With that the judge turned to us and says, "I would like to dismiss the jury with the thanks of the court." And with that, the trial was over and she was on her way to jail. Object lesson here, sometimes it would be a good idea to keep your mouth shut..LOL

I use the generic silver highlights shampoo.The purple stuff. I also have dark blonde hair. I always liked my haircolor,would sometimes get a frost done but mostly just left it alone.

When I lost my hair, I bought myself a red wig with highlights. I loved it. My own hair has always been blonde. When my hair grew back it was just gray. So I put a strawberry blonde color on it It turned, red,pink and purple. A beautician told me that was because of the chemicals. So now I wil let it go back to gray. I didn't know about the purple shampoo with silver highlights. I would love to have had the gray with silver, but it didn't happen.

You sound like me and my sister. My hair greyed like yours is doing. It is now snow white and I love it!!
My sister dyes hers, it looks soooo dyed. In the light is looks almost green, and she has it professionally done.

CR-Every time I have my hair cut the operator tells me the same thing.My natural color was medium brown with auburn highlights.I started turning grey when I was in my late 20's and by the time I was 50 I was totally silver except for a little dark in the back.
Everyone compliments my hair and I never colored it after it started getting grey or even wanted to.Every time I even jokingly mentioned putting a color on it DH would throw a fit.LOL A few years ago DD got her cosmetology license and she and DD#2 begged me to let them color my hair blonde.I have never been a blonde and I have always wondered if they really do have more fun so decided I'd let them do it. I ended up with purple hair!! I couldn't wait for it to grow out enough to cut the color off.Good thing I like my hair very short.DD said I was in style.She said a lot of younger girls(and boys)pay a lot for that color.LOL It was a pretty shade of purple. I will never do it again.I love my silver hair.I use to use Clairol Ultra White Minx rinse on it but don't bother with it now.It really brings out the silver.
Arosegirl-If your sister is getting a blonde color put on her hair they are probably using an ash blonde.That will make some hair green.Her beautician should know better! If she does it herself she should make sure the color she is using doesn't have ash in it.
