The stinkin' birds had the last laugh !!!

Up to now, I was happier than a pig in @&!# ..... the birds flew right by my juicy, ripe figs, and didn't even stop to give them a second look. The books were right! Birds "think" the ripe, but still green figs, aren't fit to peck at. After all, no self-respecting bird would eat green fruit. Well, this morning I went out to pick that lucious, ripe fig that I let hang for just one more day, and found that half of it was pecked away by a lousy blue-jay. I saw this same plumaged-pecker land on another one of my fig trees which, up until today, was also ignored . Well, not anymore !!!

Any suggestions on how to scare away some of these pests, besides the usual nets. Do you think a fake snake resting on one of the branches will cause the birds to scram?

Give me somethin' to work with!
