Nothing on TV

I don't know if it is just me, but I can't find anything worthwhile to watch on TV anymore.

I really enjoyed watching the sitcoms, now I find myself watching all the reruns. How sad is that.

I am sick of all these reality shows, can't stand them anymore.

I pay a lot for cable and there is just nothing to watch. I find myself watching the news channels now and that can be drepressing.

I'm so with you on this one. I was saying this to my daughter last night. Enough of the reality tv shows! I never could stand Survivor. Big Brother? Give me a break! Then there's all the losers on ... oh crud........ what's the show called??? One man/woman.... tries to find the 'love of their life'. Oh, The Bachelor. Beauty and the Geek. The only one worth watching was the Mole and that's only because you had to figure out who the bad person was. I've watched 2 seasons of Amazing Race.

Give me a good show like M*A*S*H, All In The Family, Happy Days. Remember back in the late 60's early 70's when sitcoms were actually good? Only Monday night tv has decent sitcoms and none are family based anymore. The Big Bang Theory. 2 1/2 Men. How I Met Your Mother. They're the only sitcoms worth watching. And for this I pay close to $100 a month to watch tv? Time to rethink my satellite channels......

That's why I've pretty much stopped watching except for the news channels. Even they get repetitive. The so-called sitcoms aren't even funny anymore, IMHO. I heard "30 Rock" was sooo funny, so I watched once. Maybe I just don't get that kind of humor.

There really isn't ANY shows I can watch with the g'kids like our family used to watch back when it was the "Happy Days" type......nowadays it's all about sex and going "over the top" with language and innuendos.

I watch and am a fan of all the oldies. I watch them so often, I can recite all the lines. Now I watch, The Amazing Race, The New Adventures Of The Old Christine, anything on HGTV and the Food Channel. Depends on if it's a good one, I'll cave in to The Bachelor/Bachelorette. I'll watch reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld. When all else fails, bring on Scooby-Doo and the Flintstones!

I've been watching the old Newhart series, where they had the inn, and The Honeymooners, as they have been running on WGN out of Chicago. No there isn't a darned thing you can watch with your family any more, and I hate where sex is the whole topic of every show. I do get Netflix which helps to time away an evening now and then.

I agree. We have over 150 channels and I usually can't find anything to watch. I watch mostly news shows. I think the reality shows are very boring. I really don't understand what anyone sees in them. But obviously many people do enjoy them, so it's just my opinion.

It really annoys me that we have to pay to watch re-runs of old shows.

I hear you. We even have 3 months of free Showtime and The Movie Channel and that is not even helpful.. I like romantic comedies and there just isn't alot on those channels.

I rarely ever watch the news.. I get the basic news from the newspaper and the internet. Not into many of the reality shows either, but I am looking forward to "American Idol" which starts in January (I think).

I do like "Chuck", "House", "The Office" and "Life". All repeats right now though.

What bugs me is a channel will run different episodes of the same show all day....like on TLC, they run what Not To Wear alllll day, they aren't the only one that does that. When they ran different shows, at least if you didn't care for the one on now, maybe the one on next or soon would be more to your liking. If they were smart, they would log on here to the KT and ask our opinions. Boy, would we tell them!!!! LOL Dottie

I sometime watch the Learning Channel, History Chanel, and we have a great channel called Prairie Public Broadcasting. They have alot of good shows, documentaries from all over especially from our area and Canada.
Don't watch much at night anymore
Even the food channel is getting boring, along with HGTV--do miss those good crafting shows where they at least showed you HOW to do a project, instead of yak, yak, yak.

I love the History Channel. We have 3 different ones. I watched two interesting shows on Teddy Roosevelt this morning as I had my tea, son packed to return home and we did some knitting. I do love really old movies from the 1940s too, so I look out for them.

"Reality" shows are CHEAP to make, so that's why they're so heavily promoted. We've never had cable before, but I think my dh is finally going to cave. When we stayed at a hotel the last couple of times, we wanted to see what's on cable; the answer seems to be, not much of anything of interest. I love the old shows, but I could rarely find them. I do watch sitcoms at night because they're mindless entertainment and I'm too tired to read, but they often disgust me and I find them boring--same ol' subject on, and on, and on.....

I only watch OLD TV. Movies on TCM, Katherine Hepburn and Bette Davis are my favorites. For TV shows, I watch TVLand, my fasvorite is I Love Lucy. Not interested in anything new, tho people tell me they like The Office.

I have a fairly basic pkg with the cable company, about 70 channels. The prices keep going up and the quality of the shows keeps going down. Several months ago they called to tell me I should go with the next pkg up, gave me the price (only good for a yr), then expounded how I'd have about 150 channels. My response was "Right, then instead of saying on a Sunday '70 channels and nothing on', I could then say '150 channels and nothing on'.

My sister and I were just talking about the lack of good shows. Remember the old Friday night lineup? I don't remember the names of the shows, there were 4 sitcoms in a row. I think "Hope And Faith" was one of them. And I loved "Sisters" on Saturday nights. T.V. is terrible now. I watch "Larry King" and "On The Money". I also watch "Animal Planet".
I'm lucky because when I get bored I have the internet.
    Bring back some good sitcoms.

I knew that Dirty Sexy Money was being cancelled. As well as Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone. Mad Men is too (I think) and Kitt (no loss there). But be prepared for more reality shows. New ones are starting in mid-January to replace some of these.

I hate reality shows. Only watch DWTS, and it wasn't as good this year. And America's Got Talent, which I really enjoy.

I for one will be sorry when football season is over I enjoy it and there's not much on that interets me anymore. Used to leave the weather channel on but everyother show is It could happen tomorrow or some medical commercial that says you'll die or worse if you don't ask your dr for this or that medicine.

I'm even leaving QVC on more and more just to have the TV on.
I'm not sure I'll even watch 24 if it evercomes back on
The cooking and home sho are more or less just showcases for somone's pet darling it seems

Medium will be back on February 2 on NBC. It's a great show. You can watch full episodes of the previous seasons on nbc.com.

The Mentalist on CBS (Tuesday nights) is new this year, and it's fantastic. If you haven't seen it, you should. Go to the CBS web site, though, and watch the first episode online. It sets the premise for the entire series. Simon Baker stars:

If your cable/satellite system gets the Planet Green channel, you can catch all of the repeats of seasons 1 and 2 of Living with Ed, which is one of our favorite shows. Ed Begley, Jr., is an avid environmentalist, and the shows are funny but very informative on ways to do things that will help our planet. This show is where we first saw recycled glass countertops, which we're going to put in our kitchen.
