CircusPeanuts - not the look I am going for at all... I wonder if my kitchen would really turn out that bad. Yikes! (Oops, no offensive to who's ever kitchen that is.) LWO - Yikes again - pricy indeed. I'll look for a knock of or at least broaden my horizons to consider darker pendents. The reason I don't want to do wood, or tile looking like wood, in the kitchen is b/c we already have wood in an adjoining hallway and I don't like it enough to do the same wood but I don't want to have a different wood right next to it. We only had it installed a few years ago though and I certainly can justify, or afford, to replace it. I also just have a thing for tile in the kitchen. I think it is b/c I grew up in Arizona. I think I am going to start looking at wood stains compared to my granite. I think I nice stained wood island could certainly be wood element and add both the warmth and contrast that I need/long for. Beth - I would LOVE to see your kitchen. It sounds a lot like the rest of my selections. Were you going to do something lighter on the floor and istead switched to what you've got to add contrast and something dark? Get a flickr, picasa or photobucket account. Upload the photos. Then there should be like a "share" button and you just copy the html gibberish and post it in the message box. wow! Thank you all so much. xoxosmom, my concern on the ge is it looks to me like the stainless steel top under the grates would get scratched after many cleanings....this is just my opinion though. Also, it is not really a slide in, that is to say there is no lip that slides over counter top so therefore stuff can get spilled down the sides of the range (sales lady actually told me that) and Im not crazy about the red color on the controls and ge logo . Other than that the range is great, it seems to have everything Im looking for. reno & mims,I am so glad to hear that you guys like your ranges because I really like the look of it, its more professional looking but the price is reasonable. Jenn Air does get a bad rap and I dont know why. Sometimes I think Im better off not reading the appliance forum, I like to cook but im not a "serious cook". All in all I am looking for a 30" professional look, all gas. I would like to have two high output burners, convection oven w/self clean. I am not a big baker so my main concern are the BTU's of the burners and the look of the range its self. If money were no object I would get a big Wolf! Kateskouros-I've notice ;) and Weissman-your right I worded the subject wrong and I realized that after it was posted. Janie_ga...glad you like it. It was a pretty quick job but you get the idea. Here is the photo with just the women no background...but saved as a jpeg it is white. Here is it saved as a GIF with a clear background. If you save them you should see the difference although on here they both appear as white backgrounds. As I said this is a hobby of mine I enjoy playing around with. Marygaily...you are quite right with all the technology and talent out there it is truly amazing what people can do with a photo.
