Have you ever exchanged cards?

I mean, a real exchange.

When we opened gifts on Christmas eve, Tom and I found out that we had bought identical cards for each other !

What are the odds on that?

LOL It's so weird when that happens. It's happened to us too. My folks live in Vegas, brother and sister live in Canada and I'm in California. A couple of times one of my siblings and I would send the exact same card to my folks for whatever the occasion was at the time. I always figured....great minds think alike lol.

It's rare that it happens cause I make most of the cards I send...several times my sis's have sent me the SAME birthday card so I'd say their on the same wavelength!

I had a bunch of credit cards opened in my name some years ago. I had rental property and had a Centruy 21 agent manage it for me. Apparently, since the mortgage statement went to that office, so did a bunch of those free offers for credit cards. The receptionist opened the accounts got the cards, and just kept paying the minimum payments on the cards. It went on for over a year and was only discovered when she went away on her honeymoon and my agent started opening the mail with my name on it--a bunch of Visa bills with over $20,000 total charges! This girl had charged her whole wedding and honeymoon in my name! The hardest part was cancelling the cards--when I called Visa they wouldn't believe I was me because the girl had given them _her_ mother's maiden name, information of course that I could not supply! It was pretty stupid, really, she thought she would never be caught, said she every intention of paying off the cards eventually. Stupid criminal. Stupid credit card companies. We all paid for that one. And yes, I do check my credit report now!

I went into the PO today, had to send a cd of pictures and had no idea how much postage for it, so I asked about postage for the exchange. I was told that they can only raise the price of stamps once a year, and they had been denied raising it for this year already, so it won't go up before Christmas. US to Canada is 80 cents US postcards are 29 cents US to most of Europe is 98 cents, depending. I don't know what it will be for those out of the US sending to the US, and he couldn't tell me. Hope this helps those intending to sign up. Heather, I missed having you sign up last year! Tami

Wanda, just added you. Don't worry. You aren't late! And I enjoy doing this. I have 14 of us signed up, including me. As that is all we have, unless all of you want me to split the list into 2 groups, I will just leave it as one group, and we send to everyone. Let me know if you want it split, please!

I have bought my husband the same birthday card two years in a row. It was very sentimental, like me.

Woody has purchased identical anniversary cards for me, which I thought was a real riot because a really good friend of mine had the same thing happen with HER DH. lol That tells me that the stores need to bring in some fresh material!

Guess I'll let my secret out. DH gets the same Valentine's card every year. I just put it away and get it back out the next year. The first time I did it was because I forgot and it happened to be in the desk drawer. I've been doing that 3 or 4 years now and he hasn't noticed yet. My bad!!

LOL Patti!! DH and I have joked about doing that. In fact, he thinks some holidays were invented by Hallmark! And the price of greeting cards has skyrocketed. I read once about a couple that goes to the grocery store, picks out cards for one another, has the other one read it, then puts it back in the rack! LOL

Yes hubby and I did that once. It was a pair of towels on the clothesline with his and hers printed on them. Not sure if it was anniversary or Valentine's day. They are cute cards!

Not cards, but oddly enough my neighbor gave me the exact same gift as what I gave her last year, same bag and all. Go figure! ;)

Patti, we do that sometimes, he loves it. He thinks cards are seriously overpriced anyway, so recycling them is A-OK with him. And if I know he hasn't gotten me a card, I hand him one from the past and tell him to give it to me and he's so happy! lol I'm telling ya, I am a CHEAP date!

I made him a real cute card one year for Valentine's Day and he really likes seeing it once a year. ;) I let him off the hook when I know he hasn't been near a store and he appreciates it. I know he loves me and that's what counts, right? Right!
