It's finally snowing !

The storm from the west has finally arrived.
Now it looks like Christmas is coming.

We're only supposed to get about an inch.

You can have it all. Here at my home in KS we have a skiff of snow, but ice under it. I heard there were numerous wrecks out on the interstate....so guess I will stay in and make some Christmas goodies today.

Last I've heard, they've updated to forcast for the Philly area to 3-6" The warm front is moving much slower than expected.

Down where we are, we've had snow since about 10 this morning. By now, grass, cars and roofs are coated. Looks so pretty. Am going to have DH turn on the christmas lights soon. Don't have any place to go, myself, and am making cookies this afternoon. Great day for it

We got it, too, and it has changed from snow to sleet to freezing rain to snow for days. My driveway is an ice skating rink. My neighbor threw ice melter on my driveway yesterday (temp 30 degrees at the time) and it didn't seem to do a thing. The ice must be inches thick. My milk jugs are barely visible under all those layers, but happily sleeping. Those jugs hold up to weight so well. That's one of the many reasons I like them so well. Karen

The West is a place of extremes. Nothing can be normal here, can it? Nothing can be easy. No wonder our native plants are so bullet-proof. I'm now doing the "perennial plant shuffle." In the morning, the plants go out to be hardened off. Daytime temps are 60-65. At night, in they go to the garage because the temps get down to (gasp!) 25. Today it will be 65 degrees. On Thursday, the low is forecast to be 20 with a high of 35, with rain and snow. During the perennial plant shuffle, I feel as if my plants are more like pets than flora. Good grief! Such is the price to pay for getting "first dibs" at the nursery.

Somehow Toronto missed the big storms that hit the US last week - I was sure we would get it when New York did. Last winter we had our biggest snow storm of the year the day spring break started - many people were stuck at the Toronto airport for 3 or 4 days - and to say that we received our heaviest snowfall says something because there was no where to put it. I am expecting a huge storm some time over the coming weeks - so far not in forecast, but it will happen. We have had too much snow this winter already.

It has been terrible. I was scrambling around looking for my nasonex box so I could call in my refill, apparently the box got thrown away but the pharmacy had a refill on file thank goodness. It's been making me cough so much from the sinus drainage. I keep pinching my nose and trying to pop my ears, it helps sometimes. If you are having the sinus problems I really recommend using a netti pot with the solution for it. It does a good job of clearing them for a while. I use the Neil Med one. I am taking all my prescription medications and still suffering. At least every thing isn't coated with yellow pollen any more. It was like living in a yellow world.

We were supposed to get about 2-4 inches but ended up with around 7. Im in Maryland about 20 miles south of Gettysburg. Next we are expecting ice to accumulate 2 inches or more. Yuk.

Lots more than an inch here on my side of Philadelphia. Cars slip sliding everywhere. I'm staying home and watching the snow at the Eagles game. The just said eight inches on the field. Yikes, this was totally unexpected.

Woo hoo! Touchdown for the Eagles!

I'm across the Delaware from Philly and DH measured 6" when he got the snow blower out. I stayed inside and watched the rest of the Eagles game. What an enjoyable game that turned out to be.

We got about 1.7 inches today. It started snowing lightly around 8 a.m. and continued all day. I had to brush the snow off my car windows after church and again after the basketball game. The fellow parked next to me at the game asked to borrow my brush when I was through as he could not find his. I waited in my warm car while he brushed his windows. Our snow is very dry.

Kent County DE was supposed to get 1-3 inches, but don't think we came anywhere close. Roads were a bit slick, but then the rain started. Pretty sure the snow will be all gone by the morning.

But the folks in New Castle County really got clobbered. Last report was 11 inches and possibly more to come.
