Hi there mimi - Lucky Miss, I began to smoke about 16 ... kept it up for about 6 mos., decided that, liking neither the taste nor, being frugal, even way back then, the cost - I quit. My Dad had bronchitis and was sure that he was on the way to asthma, so, though pulling up stakes and moving is somewhat more difficult for a farmer than for many in society, moved from rather damp Ontario to rather arid Saskatchewan. He had 40 years of good health, there. Nephew has such breathing problems that his family moved from Ontario to rather dry Alberta, as well, so we conclude that here is lung weakness in our family. I, too, feel that my lungs are less strong than most of the rest of my body. At past 80, living once more in Ontario, I had clots in my lung something over a year ago, was told by visiting nurse that I am a very lucky man. If one gets such in the heart, it's a heart attack, and in the brain it's a stroke. Having been treated with rat poison for substantially over a year, now, I was told a few months ago, after a second CT scan, that my clots are gone and that I'm a poster boy (second childhood) for clot treatment. My feeling is that, had I continued smoking, more than likely I'd be either in a box underground by now ... or wouldn't that burn one up? Never having had any desire at all to becoming a slave to another person, I offer you good wishes for success in your continued determination to staying quit of being addicted to a little white paper tube filled with dead leaves. ole joyful

Might as well have been home alone today, only I wouldn't have worked quite as hard and would probably have enjoyed it more. Busted my rear making a nice Christmas dinner for DH, which he finished in five minutes and went back to his garage to "putter." So then the kitchen had to be put back together. Nothing from him all afternoon, until the call, "what have you got in mind for supper?" Fed him again, and at 6:50 he goes to bed. Granted, his back hurts because he spent too much time on his feet "puttering" but sheesh! My kids are 3,000 miles away and busy with their own family and traditions, but I would really have liked a call. I am their only mom and grandma, after all! Okay, pity party over. It wasn't a bad day, after all, and tomorrow I get to go to work. YAAYY! And DH will take me out for Mexican food tomorrow evening.
