Good news from back home last night!

My brother, who's been out of work for 3 1/2 years got offered a job! Unemployment in NV is 14% and he was getting really depressed. He just has to pass the drug test. He will be making a lot less than his last job but he's pretty happy he just found something.

congratulations to him! My cousin Dianne has been out of work for years. She found a seasonal job for 8 or 9 weeks. Maybe it will become permanent or lead to soething better.

And boy did we have a great visit! It was so good to see Peppi and her Father again. Charles had a meeting on Wednesday and we decided to go to Chi Town and visit with family and friends while we were there. I won't bore you with the details but needless to say we enjoyed the friends and family tremendously. Shopping was great too. Meal Peppi prepared for us: Ceaser salad Onions And Mushrooms still steaming for Steaks Beautiful Steak and Baked Potato Fuzzy Charming Dad Perfect Peppi Tasty Apricot Tart Here's your piece with Whipped Cream Thank you Peppi and Dad for a wonderful evening. It will be one that Charles and I will not soon forget. Your home is so warm and inviting...just seemed a perfect evening. I apologize for making this short but I had a small eye procedure yesterday afternoon. The peepers aren't working well:-) Peppi and I were able to get together on Tuesday evening at McCormick and Schmits. YUMMMMMMY!! I'll soon download those pics and post next week.

New Elevations, Please Review (Epiphany Late Last Night)

So for those who are interested, I did some elevations for the inside too. Just for some of the details to show my builder. these were done in photoshop by me so are not 100. the first one is the divider between the kitchen/dining and the great room. Yes I know that all natural wood is more craftsman but I wanted a lighter look and paint grade is a lot less expensive than furniture grade moldings. Especially since my wood of choice is cherry. Yes the columns will also be triangular like the porch columns. :) the fireplace wall is opposite the kitchen entry and that wall will be cherry. there will be handmade tile around the fireplace. I am considering doing a coffered ceiling in the living room again using paint grade and then painting the ceiling itself in a color. I'm not sure yet whether I'll go with a picture rail or a frieze board. I'm leaning towards the frieze board. Crown molding will be simple to work with the rest of the moldings. Maybe this for crown molding.

"... the running joke about her inability to curse in the Good Place was wearing thin." One preview that was aired about 1,000 times too many was when Kristen Bell's character tosses a disposable coffee cup towards a trash can but misses. Some guy asks, "Are you going to pick that up?" Kristen's character replies, "Are you going to eat my farts?" I have no idea if that's part of the inability-to-curse thing or not, but that alone was enough for me to conclude, "Nope. Not going to watch that one."

Well, our next trip will probably be to Kansas to visit my amazing niece. However, we'll leave the RV at home We stay with her when we go put there. I am not sure when that will be exactly. We are seeing a skin cancer specialist next week. When we find out what the surgery will entail, and find out when that will take place, the we are gong to go to Kansas. March 30, we head to Florida for a month here . After that maybe wander on over to NOLA for a couple of weeks . In July, we head to Iowa, spend a week or two there. And then "wagon train" it out to Yellowstone for a couple of weeks with the kids. When the kids go back to Iowa, then we will meander our way southward here and there through Wyoming, Utah, California, Arizona, and then Eastward to either St Pete, Florida or the Florida Keys for the winter. At least that's the plan. Its all very flexible.

Let's have more good news like this. My DD has landed a full time job, but has yet to work more than 23 hours a week. Volumteered to do shifts no one else wanted this weekend and still hasn't made a 40 hour week. The economy is moving, but like molasses.

That is great News... .yes, it is sad our unemployment is so far down. I am in NV also. Lets hope this is a trend and jobs are on the upswing for everyone!

Linda, he used to do inventory management. I think that's what it's called.
