New floors are installed , Picture

I'm really excited the wood is in and we are getting ready to put mop boards and furniture in. Several months ago I asked the KT for thoughts on flooring and it did help. So now that is here I feel sort of like a new car owner. Don't want to have anything sharp near it, the family is lucky they even get to do anything on it. My sister playfully suggests we just plop a water balloon or a plate of food, on it and get my trauma over with. Of course its wet outside and part of the yard that was dug up is muddy. The dog has already baptized it with her feet.

Right now I could use some of your ideas about keeping the floors clean and safe. Thankfully this is super hardwood and eventually I'll get used to it but for now I'm wondering what are the best kind of throw rugs are, what is the best mop or wet mop to use. I'm thinking I need a fenced in area for the dogs so they can go outside but not come in a muddy mess every time. I have one of those dogs that thinks she has to go out with everyone! That's going to change. What do I need for the chairs? I have a few kitchen chair leg covers in rubber. Have some stick on felt too. Still scared to put them on the floor tho. I know I'm feeling over whelmed but I won't be putting new floors in for a LONG time so any thoughts would be appreciated. Already bought the whole family new slippers~ Have any good advice?
